True Colours of Destiny
Random helpish question!

So I'm trying to decide whether to go to the major museum (Royal Ontario Museum) or art gallery (Art Gallery of Ontario) tomorrow.

Museum:
- I've been there a lot but I like the area it's in
- I only really want to go for the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition
- It costs $28, because you can't just go for said exhibition

Art Gallery:
- New building renovation and I've never really been there before
- Cheaper than the museum and next to Chinatown
- However, there isn't really anything in the galleries I want to see

Museum. If it has something you want to see and the other option doesn't, it seems best. Is seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition worth the extra money?

I went to a museum in Scotland just to see the Doctor Who museum. Sad thing, that I hadn't know prior, was that it was primarily for the Tenth doctor. crying No luffs for the Ninth!

Yeah, I went digging around the museum site. There's now another reason to visit. THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE THEIR COPY OF THE EGYPTIAN BOOK OF THE DEAD OUT ON DISPLAY. *Brain orgasm*

So apparently, I'm not on the schedule next week.

for work that is.

Which is sort of what I wanted, so yay.

still, I can't help but feel I've left some bad blood with the management.

I do not regret quitting my last job -- but I do need a new one.

My last day at Citi was August 26th!

And now September 22nd seems all the closer...

EDIT - whatever happened to the "Best things to say as a pagan" thread, or some derivation there of. A friend over the weekend said, "I like my coffee like I like my magic; BLACK!"

I snerked half of my tea onto my shirt.

Enviousssssss.. o: Go to the Museum, man. XD Seriously. XD

The closest I'm getting is going to the omniversum in The Hague later this week. Which is basically a big movie-theatre. Not sure which show we'll be catching, but I'm hoping it's something to do with astrophysics.

Also, lol at the black coffee/magic comment. XD That would look awesome on a t-shirt..

I has a new desk. That is, I has parts for a new desk in a box, after spending a long time at IKEA trying to decide what kind of desk in a box I would get. I was smart and researched ahead of time, set a budget, and the narrowed it down in the store from six possibilities to two. Then I couldn't narrow down any farther for another half an hour. sweatdrop I have serious problems making decisions sometimes.

It came down in the end to a cheap desk in a boring color that reminded me of dorm furniture, or a desk double that price that matched our pretty bookshelves with wheels and a better keyboard tray (everything else was pretty much equal). My plan for the boring desk was to spice it up with paint and decoupage and make it MY pretty. But I eventually decided that that would've been a great project if I had gotten the desk a few weeks ago, instead of the day before the semester starts. ninja So I ended up going with the one that was already pretty, since I need all the tricks I can devise to inspire me to be studious this semester, and I preferred to work at a desk I was excited about sitting at right out of the box, rather than one I was going to resent for months until I finally had time and brainspace to make it pretty.

Although it's staying in the box a bit longer, because a desk that sounds good (although no picture) was offered on Freecycle yesterday and I put my name in for it, but I haven't gotten a reply yet so I dunno.

EDIT: No dice on the Freecycle desk. Apparently it got picked up on Sunday after all but they hadn't posted a taken notice yet.

I only spent about 2 and half hours there. I spent on hour with the DSS, because it was all about ancient Israel as well. I got to see an ancient copy of Genesis! :O

I wandered about the rest of the museum, but you have to realize, I think in grade school, we went there about once every two years and in high school, there were A LOT of museum field trips. So that's why I also slightly am getting bored because I frankly have been there enough. xD

However, I got to finally buy something from American Apparel today and $20 of bulk candy from Sugar Mountain. sweatdrop gonk

I wonder if/how the U.S./world would be different if Penn had called his capital "Philagapia" or something similar.

(Edit)
And it's kind of sad that Georgia pre-slavery failed and Georgia post-legalization of slavery boomed.

(These are the random thoughts I have while completing textbook reading requirements for history class.)

My apartment complex caught on fire last night. My husband and I are both fine. We got our cats out when we left. According to the animal control officer this morning all the pets we had to leave behind are fine and our appartment appeared, to them, unaffected. Hopefully we'll be back in our appartment tonight. Right now we're staying at my mother-in-laws.

I hope everything is fine and you can return home comfortably tonight, to a cozy apartment with everything intact.

I'm glad you guys got out alright, and saved the kitties. <3 Any word on the cause?

The rumor last night is that one of the punks, who is alwys causing trouble of some kind, dropped something under his bed and used a lighter to try and find it. Setting the mattress on fire in the process. He lived on our floor. Six appartments down on the oppisite side of the hall. My moter-in-law saw him and one of his buddies locked in the weight room being questioned by a firefighter and a police officer.

That sounds like a stupid thing to do... Hopefully he gets what's coming to him. It sucks that other people are going to suffer because he's irresponsible. :/

So I may be going to Pennsylvania in December. The American Anthropological Association is having a gathering out there, and my gf wants to go there and stalk William Bass (founder of the Body Farm).

At least I get to travel for the holidays. At student rates too biggrin

I was supposed to have a World Civilization class this morning, but my cell phone's alarm decided not to work for the first time ever. I had been debating whether to drop that class, however, and add Ancient Religions instead (it's at 9 AM, which is why I wasn't sure), so I took this my cell phone telling me that I should suck it up and switch.

Now all my classes that aren't music are religion based: Ancient Religions, which apparently covers Greece, Rome and Egypt; History of Islamic Civilization; and History of East Asian Religions. Is excited!
