I haven't got the right skills for this role, so I am not going ahead with it.
*Sigh.* I'm going to ensure I do something with myself this year and get training or something.

Why isn't the doctor happy about you being online?
I know someone who has the same condition (that you told me about), and he's also severely disabled with cerebral palsy and is paralysed, and he can use a computer. Surely you can just curb your time on it?

Hi DM, I'm getting on OK; they're waiting now for some test results to come from the lab from a blood draw last night, then I might get to go home before tea. (it's noon here now.) The doc is not happy about me being online because they all keep telling me I'm supposed to be resting and recuperating. I told the head sister last night that watching mindless TV shows and listening to my room-mate whine on the telephone about her many boyfriends is NOT resting; being online is. smile One of my docs said they complain at me because they care; another said because they have to. *grin*

Seems similar to what I'm experiencing. I'm stuck in my room most of the time with only the TV, internet and gaming consoles for company with my dad muttering about something every other minute (including swearing etc).
I'm not always in the mood for either of those three things...so it's driving me mad.

I'm glad to hear you have the job, as well as yer items and gold back.
I'm sad to know that you didn't have the right skills for the job though. I suppose it's getting tougher and tougher to find a job anywhere not just in Guatemala.

I've also been fine. I doubt I'm gonna be on much tomorrow due to some errands but hopefully I'll be on here on either Thursday or Friday. 3nodding

I'm finding myself somewhere between completing my last year of undergraduate studies and trying to get into one of six museum studies programs I'm applying to. The first batch of applications are due next week, so I'll be spending my weekend writing and polishing personal statements and the like. I'm half terrified I won't get in anywhere, because trying to find a job in Michigan (or really, anywhere) right now is next to impossible. And really, what do you do with anthropology degree?!

Hypno: Yeah, school takes up so much time as well as every other thing that goes on over here. With my mom freaking out about the usual and then having my father being in the hospital over the Thanksgiving break because of breathing trouble and an acute heart attack on top of that, it has been busy on this end with me needing to add more load on my shoulders to do, like making sure my younger brother gets to school. He is going back in tomorrow (Monday) to have the surgeons attempt to put in a third stint into his heart to open up a blockage he has had for years (that his body was somehow able to get around so it never bothered him all that time) because he was not getting better after the initial surgery. If they aren't able to do it, he will more than likely go for a bypass.

I am not sure how this semester is going to play out because I have classes earlier than when my brother is supposed to get to school, and if anything happens with my dad between then... @_@

Why does life suck?

A friend of mine who owns a small business just had the bank where he has all his business loans recall all his business loans. Another friend of mine works for him and has been laid off as a result. She's not in such a good place, mentally, right now, so this is just about the worst thing that could happen to her at the moment.

Grumble...

I'm not in a great mental state myself. I've slipped back into wanting to do things but not having the ability to summon the will to do so.

I'll be looking into finding sponsorship for another sailing voyage soon, so I hope to make another getaway if I can. Mum and dad are making life so difficult that I feel like no more than a big cat locked in a tiny cage (that cage being my bedroom) because I have no job and can't get one that I can actually do. Now the recession is here, there's a lot more competition for jobs that DO come up, and they'll all go to the people who've recently had work.

It seems most of us are feeling troubles nowadays. confused

I suggest we should all watch that Mel Brooks movie and maybe get a laugh or two out of it cuz, laughter can sometimes be the best medicine. I hope things get better for everybody. At least I'm not the only one without a job... sweatdrop

I must confess that I didn't come back to the guild this week cuz I got myself busy with my Nintendo DS and my new flash card. I got news from that flash card by a friend (I call him Jin) from the CV guild. Lair, chippbogard and Mel must know who I'm talkign about. Anyway, I asked Lair about it and he said it was one of the best cards for playing ROMs on my DS and so far, I like it. I hate playing ROMs on a PC so this is amazing and I haven't made time for the guild. Sorry Mel!
At least I'm making time now and I made sure to check out most of the sub-forums. I also posted in quite a few threads...

That's it for me! I am off and I hope everyone is doing better.
