Ugh, it's ridicously hot out today. And I didn't leave the AC on for the critters crying . It was supposed to be raining scream I hope everyone's ok when I get home.

EDIT: Also Hubby says I can come meet folks in the Chicago area. So long as everyone there is aware that he is not there to meet people, only for my protection. And he'll be armed. So if everyones ok with him being there and being armed then I can meet people ninja

My gut reaction is one of alarm, but that's a little disturbing.

If it's at my place, guns are banned by the lease, and Illinois does not allow concealed or open carry. (I can't recall your exact state), Chicago is even more restrictive.

Concerning guns, I think you need to register them and have a permit of some sort. My grandpa owns tons of guns, mainly hunting rifles but he has to have a permit. I dunno if it's okay to carry a concealed weapon in the open in Chicago. It's been years since I heard anything concerning their gun laws. >.< I could ask my grandmother or grandfather the next time I speak with him though..

Concealed carry is illegal throughout all of Illinois. Owning is fine -- I'm probably learning how to shoot soon (If we move in with a friend who owns guns, I insist to learn) but Illinois has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the US.

IIRC, Texas not only has concealed carry, but open carry without a permit. Things are weird in Texas.

Have you ever seen the movie Taken? The one where the guys daughter goes to France and gets kidnapped into the sex trade? The main character is very much like my husband. He is very protective when I insist on doing things that could put me in danger. He knows too much and immideatly thinks of every thing that could go wrong. At least he wanted to let you know that he'd be armed, there have been times when he's told me not to tell the people I wanted to meet that he would be. He reads over my shoulder a lot so he kinda knows you guys. The warning is kinda his way of saying. "My wife likes you and you have given no idication that you're dangerous, so I'll let you know that I can be."

Oi, he's hard to explain sweatdrop

I can also gaurantee that he wouldn't bring a gun. He vehemantly dislikes the things.

Oh, and the weapon would likely only be for the first or second meeting.

If there ever is a meet-up in Chicago I'll make sure he checks all local laws prior to the trip. Are pocket knives illegal? I've got a 2.5" that I carry everywhere.
