Most of the Pagan-ish music I have listened to has been either that Airy stuff that comes out of the folks trying to sing the way they think the Celts would, or Norse Metal.

I'll trade any of that stuff for a night on the sun porch with my family.

Hence why I like listening to A Darker Shade of Pagan. very little of either.

Although, right now, my heart belongs to Omnia and Daemonia Nymphe for pagan music.

I saw a concept art for the new Zelda game for Wii. I hope it lives up to it's potential. Wii has really been releasing crappy (though mindlessly fun) games lately.

I thought Twilight Princess was good. But then, I played the GC version, since we currently lack a Wii. Wouldn't play the Wii version anyway, out of principle. Link is left handed, and nothing will convince me otherwise.

Yay for Zelda purists! As one who has the Wii and GC version, the latter is better; playing Link on the Wii feels like I'm a guy masturbating to a fairy. With weird noises in the background.

I listened to a lot of Enya, during my thankfully brief fluff bunny phase.

These days, my music tastes are rather eclectic. My current playlist includes things like the Saint Seiya soundtracks, hip hop, 80s pop, disco, and classical remixes. The closest anything gets to reflecting my religious beliefs is 'Walk Like An Egyptian.' xd

I still listen to a lot of Enya. It helps me to sleep.

Oh, I still like Enya. But man, her CDs did not leave my CD player near at all, during that phase of my life.

I admit to Loreena McKennit as well as Enya. redface

But I try to make up for it with Rhapsody, Suidakra, Corvus Corax and Therion. Granted, Faun pretty much makes up for a couple of those, too.

My girlfriend's mother listens to Omnia, it's pretty neat.

Just got the letter in saying me and the kid got approved for Medicaid. And the kid's is retroactive by three months. Hurray for not having to pay copays, and actually being able to go to the doctor. Today is a good day.

That, I don't know. I'm going to be looking into that when we next see his pediatrician. He sees a doctor who specializes in autism, and has an autistic son of his own.

When he got therapy in the home, it was free, because they didn't care what my SO made, as we aren't married, and I was unemployed (still am). Then he started receiving it through the school. Chesapeake schools are actually really good with special education, and bring in certified speech and occupational therapists.

I know a bill recently got shot down to make insurance providers in Virginia cover therapies and treatments for autism, but that was private insurance. I don't know the state of Medicaid, in that area.

Good. This is what they are supposed to be doing. Be a hard a** with his IEP. It'll save your world.

Long cry from when my brother was diagnosed. When we lived in VA and he was 5!, they wanted to put him in a cab and drive an hour every day to go to a special school.

Instead, my parents said "No." and forced the school to let him in. My parents = pretty awesome.

By the time we got to Naperville about a year later, the disctrict we were in were already starting the process of switching all schools to inclusion/mainstreaming. In 1990. My parents chose to live in Naperville for that sole reason.

This year, he's catching a bus to a school in a different district than we live in. He's in a special program that mainstreams part time, and works towards full time mainstreaming, specifically for kids with high functioning autism. I'm okay with it, mainly because the school he's going to is one of the best in the area for special education.

The program moves around, though, so if he's still in it after this year, no guarantee he'll be in the same school. It's in whatever district has the most kids in the program that year.

See... Loreena McKennit, Enya, Jewel, Tori Amous and Sarah McLachlan all are pretty much nails on a chalk board.
