I've just blanked it out to be honest. It's not that I don't care, because I do, I just find that I don't get emotional about things like that anymore. My mum will sit there and gasp and say "oh no...why must people do things like that?" and get upset about it. Truth is, there's nothing we can do but pray and hope that it gets sorted as soon as possible.
These things are never going to stop happening. War (or any kind of conflict) is a part of human nature. As much as we may hate it and fear for our friends and loved ones. I just pray and hope it stops or that innocent people find a way to keep safe somehow. Most foreigners look to the UK for that kind of help, and although it's understandable for people in third world or warring countries to look to us, we're just too damn small. We're rapidly losing our countryside, many neighbourhoods are no longer safe because of racism or conflict of religious beliefs and the likes, and immigrants get more help than those of us who were here long before they came over.
You see how everything just multiplies when one topic like the events in India comes up. I mean when topics like that come up ANYWHERE, whether it be in local meetings or on internet forums like this.
Mum sees pictures of the starving people in Africa and goes all sentimental. I just blank it because I just can't let it upset me. A big part of me wants to be able to help, but I can't. I wish there was something I could do. Forgive me Suma, I feel for them, I just find that I can't express it.
