Cyrus the Elder rmcdra maenad nuri rmcdra maenad nuri rmcdra Illinois is still strange to me. I'm originally from a small Louisiana town and the atmosphere, people and weather, is so different. I like it up here though I miss the cuisine of my youth though, like red beans and rice, gumbo, and boiled crayfish. I mean yeah I can cook it myself but I just miss that the place that do cook these foods don't cook and season it to my liking. Where in Illinois are you? My parents go to a cajun restaurant in Naperville a bit of the time. Urbana-Champaign DUDE, you're 45 minutes from me. I'm in Normal, and I've got a few friends in Chambana. Sweet. We should get together sometime. And this is where the Cyrus gets depressed over being at least 24 hours from everyone else emo It's okay. At least I'm awake during you're part of the day. That's night shift.

Collowrath TeaDidikai Collowrath, for me, ancient places never seem "past their prime", so much as they seem to resonate in a deep way. For me, there's a point where they resonate a particular, peculiar sadness. That was the only manner at the time that I could articulate it - I'm not sure if my words are being adequate. I know what you feel Collowrath. My old elementary school was a feeder school. It was situated in a very old neighbourhood of the city and most of the students were bused in. I went there for four years.
Last year, I was reading the newspaper and they were thinking about demolishing the school because there weren't many children coming anymore. Last Saturday, I visited the school, and had a very large rush come at me. It was probably the same feeling that Collowrath feels. Looking around the school's outside, I was very sad at the thought of the school being demolished. It was past it's prime, the fields overrun with weeds, the pavement outside being worn away, the sandboxes not very full of sand.

TeaDidikai True Colours of Destiny I know what you feel Collowrath. My old elementary school was a feeder school. I can see why someone would feel that, but I have never seen a place project that so much as I have felt my own nostalgia tugging at me.
Eh, it may have something to do with being uncomfortable with change, on my part. It unseats me on a very fundamental level.
I can't really explain the feeling very well though. :/

maenad nuri Hey Everyone! We've gotten a lot of new people lately, thanks to the change in guild categories. This is awesome. Here's the remembering: We are a Rehabilitation Guild. Don't be dicks. Don't gang up on people if they say something that you think is wrong.. To new people: We are direct, blunt, and we believe in taking apart posts and providing evidence/reasoning for beliefs. This is not impolite or rude or trolling, particularly if someone asks you for a cite or a "why do you think" . If you have a problem with a guild member, please contact me. Have fun! Me? A d**k?
Never.

No worries! Sometimes my words just aren't enough.
