I don't know if anyone else around here listens to BBC radio ever, but a couple days ago, BBC 3 did a program on Welsh music, poetry and prose (both in English and Welsh). I'm listening to it right now, and it's quite lovely, though I suppose it helps that Words and Music is one of my favorite radio programs ever. There's a wonderful harp concerto in it though, if that makes anyone a little more interested... Click on the listen button if you wanna hear it, the page also has program notes. I don't know if you have to download anything to listen... I've been listening to this stuff for a few years now.
It also reminded me of something I've been meaning to ask Cu for a while. Is the culture of the Welsh similar to that of the Irish, in that it's also closed? It's been a while since I've read The Mabinogion and don't remember anything being said about it, so I was curious.
Also, happy birthday, Calixti!
