maenad nuri Recursive Paradox Dreamwidth is substantially better than LJ, but access is limited. I think I may actually have an invite code now. But yes, I use it for my transgender related blog. I have two invite codes that I haven't sent out yet. My lj and dw are exactly the same. LJ has more people (and more Hellenics), but DW has more promise.
I've certainly been very happy with it so far. *nodnod*

today the sun turned me from a ghost into a lobster.
so, i have kind of decided to seek a legit coven of the Wica. not super-actively seeking since i still think i have a bit of brushing up to do on all things Outer Court, and maybe take a Reiki I attunement class so i'm not totally dead when it comes to manipulating energy [and so i can heal people, always a plus].
i have a few books on my shelf and i am unsure which would be of use to me for the time being, and i am unsure what to do with the ones i decide not to keep. they are as follows:
elements of ritual by deborah lipp the study of witchcraft by deborah lipp the way of four by deborah lipp solitary witch by silver ravenwolf [i KNOW it's her, but the book is so big and i wonder if there's anything useful in there] wicca: a year and a day by timothy roderick wicca for life by raymond buckland living wicca by scott cunningham wicca: a guid for the solitary practitioner by scott cunningham green witchcraft by ann moura (aoumiel) wicca for beginners by thea sabin
don't worry, i have others that are definite keepers that are not listed here. i'm thinking all of the deborah lipp books are keepers [and to be honest, i love them]. cunningham, buckland, and moura are out [just don't know what to do with them... library? sell?]. not sure if anything in ravenwolf's is worthwhile or credible, but will make a list of all of those topics so i can study them in-depth and later relieve myself of her work. i like the roderick book for the most part, as well as sabin's heavy emphasis on meditation, visualization, feeling energy, and other necessary skills. i know this is tedious and personal, but can i get any pointers, big or small?
@Collowrath: if you make it, i'll read it and respond.

CuAnnan And an aside: you're not supposed to treat people if all you have is Reiki 1. This isn't the case with any of the traditions I am an initiate of. The whole point of the First Attunement is to train you how to give full body treatments on others- where your hands go, etc.
You can't do distance Reiki, but that's because of the stuff you need from second degree.
Illiezeulette so, i have kind of decided to seek a legit coven of the Wica. There are a few in the area.

Collowrath I'm thinking about starting an LJ or something like that. It'd mostly be about my spiritual life I think, not that I can really separate it from the rest of my life when even two days of thorough cleaning contains a connotation of worship along with it. And it'd be as much for myself in order to make sense of things as for anyone who might stumble upon it and read it. Opinions? Thoughts? Dis/encouragement?
Do LJ! I rarely remember to go look at DW, since I don't have one, whereas, I check my flist on LJ almost daily.
Fiddler, what's your LJ? And may I add you?
In other news, after several hours of painting our hall a horrendously bright color of green, my dad finally decided that it was not, in fact, the color he wanted (he's red/green color blind, so he couldn't tell any difference between that and the nice, mellow green of our living room). So tomorrow I get to start repainting the hall and hope that the nice, mellow green will cover the bright green without too many coats. I really wouldn't mind all this painting that much (as it keeps me away from the mosquitoes), except that my hands keep cramping up.
At least I get to look forward to the week of Torchwood next week!!!! SOOOO excited! And I think they're going to show the newest Doctor Who episode in the US soon, which I really enjoyed and will enjoy even more when it's not on my computer screen ^_^
