Tea, in some Kingdoms, there is no Court which does not depend solely upon the Field. You may have been in some good regions, but the SCA is just as prone to armed Tyranny as any Dark Ages RP group. But this is my personal dislike, it can be remedied if I am introduced to a Court and Field which is not corrupt, nepotistic, and a blaspheme before all scholarship.

And I spend my time drinking, eating, cooking, making things by hand, dancing, story telling, and.... well... playing.

I avoid the royals like the black plague. burning_eyes

Sounds like your localities have had a less integrated nobility.

Oh... don't misunderstand.

I care for them. They are my friends. But they are also... well... a little fluffy now and then.

But as far as quality friends go- well, I personally forgive personality querks in favor of the nature of a quality relationship.

Oh gosh, I miss the SCA. I miss my poor perished Household. Unfortunately the local group seems to have become... harder to do things with. I tried to get some friends involved, but as someone who hadn't been in years and some newcomers, the events were just not very welcoming. I grew up with it, and it changed so much from what I remember, I just didn't have fun any more, and that's sad.

I have four of them in my life (not including Matches)

Each of which (for reasons beyond their or my control) are driving me up the wall.

I plan to do up a lovely little rant on it at some point.
