Summer finally hit here! The weather wasn't getting out of the 60s for the longest time, but this past week it's been in the 80s, which would be lovely, except that there still tons of mosquitoes flying around so I still need to wear jeans while I'm doing yard work. Yuck. Thankfully, every now and then I have to go into the basement to make sure the water level isn't too high, and it's cool down there. That nasty storm that hit most of the US this weekend managed to flood our basement again. It's been a fun summer so far, let me tell ya!

One of the boxes that somehow managed to not get ruined in the flooding was the box of all the crap pagan books I got in high school. I mean, really bad books, that I don't want to just give to my friends or a used book store. Any ideas what to do with them?

Season four's almost universally reviled by most of the Angel fandom, but I don't mind it too much. As a warning though, they push the reset button in a huge way at the end. Season five is HILARIOUS, probably the funniest of all five seasons, and I blame a certain character that joins the cast as a regular. ninja

I haven't read the comics. emo I'm too poor to buy them, and need to check if the public library has them.

I like season four because it has Faith in it! *drools* I can't stand Connor though, which I'm guessing is why most people don't like it. The only episodes of season five I've seen are The Girl in Question and Smile Time. Smile Time is hilarious!!!!

And a secret... I don't own any of the comics, I borrow them from my friend when she's done reading them, which is why I've only read the first 15 issues, when there's like 22 or 23 out. ninja

Though most have probably already seen it, I whited out anything that could be a spoiler...

I probably wouldn't have minded Connor so much, but in having to watch him and Cordelia
there was a bit of an "ick" factor involved considering that she changed his diapers when he was a baby and all.

I volunteered to take part in a research study. An hour of laying inside of an MRI listening to sets of tones and deciding if the second set was faster or slower then the first . I had no idea that it would be so hard not to fall asleep. Or that MRI's were so comfortable. Ooh, and I got to see my brain, or at least a 3-D rendering of my brain.

So I spent most of my drive home last night stuck on I-5 over the Columbia River because some guy was threatening to throw himself off the bridge. link

I HATE driving on long bridges over vast amounts of water. I usually take the Astoria bridge into OR because the bulk of it is only about ten feet above the water.

Man, the research study I volunteered for, I just did interviews.

Spike and Harmony make season five awesome. They're so great for comic relief. heart And season four, yeah, it's partly Connor, partly what's seen as character derailment for a major character, and partly the ending. But it's a guilty pleasure for me, even if they did ruin my favourite character. crying

Haha, I wish I had a friend to borrow the comics from. But none of my irl friends are Whedon fangirls like I am. It makes me saaaad.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, I have about three pints of blueberries in the fridge! Not a fan of raw blueberries; I bought them to do some baking. So, should I bake turnovers, mini-tarts, muffins, or something else? biggrin

I miss my grandfather's sourdough blueberry pancakes.

The way I see it, if I am going to be an advocate of animal research and work in the field then when I know about a study that I can take part in on the other end then I should. I'd consider myself a hypocrit otherwise.

*with long battery life and someone's unsecured wireless.....*
My power is out. It's supposed to reach 94 today. It's already 86 degrees at 9:30 AM

I'm not staying home today. I have laundry to do anyways.

The sky people have had the painters in again.
They've painted the clouds blue and put that big bright thing up there again.
