Thank goodness I'm staying away from environmental policy work! I know that's how a lot of good stuff gets done, but I doubt I'd be much use with my brain trying to escape via ear canal every time I read stuff in legalese.

Note: It's been two years, and I still can't get over the fact that most Seattle residences don't have air conditioning. Somehow, I just can't wrap my mind around the concept of NOT needing it. Bah. I'll never understand this whole "moderate local climate" thing.

I'm going to try to go most of the summer here in Illinois without AC. We have windows and fans and we will have work and class for most of the summer. So yeah, July we might turn it on as it hits 90, but right now, it's fine.

Cheaper too.

Also, finally found a song to do for the hafla I'm performing in. I probably won't do a choreo other than playing around.

Ewww. My Field Ecology lab for my Fall term is on Friday. Which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't my ONLY class on Friday, but it is. scream

But I think I may do a History minor now. History of Ancient Law and History of the Medieval Ages!

I've managed to not kill Davit for two years. How's that for a strong marriage?
PostPosted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 5:31 pm
Tomorrow is my 14 year wedding anniversary. I'm fully amazed at any given moment that we've made it this far, especially seeing as we really don't have all that much in common any more. sweatdrop

Congrats Nuri heart .

Sweet: That's the way Chris and I are; we have nothing in common. Makes me wonder what it'll be like when we're married. If we make it that far gonk .

We used to, and it's not like we don't get along well enough, but I was really young when we got married, and I've changed a lot since then.

I'm dealing with dial up at home right now, thus my long absence, but apparently it's just fast enough to be able to trudge through the forums and guilds!

No luck finding a summer job, so I'm going to be working around/on the house for my dad. Digging, painting, dealing with the flooded basement, etc.
The fiance still hasn't been able to find work either and the interview she had a few weeks ago was another no go. But she's gonna get the name change process going this week! Hopefully that'll make things easier for her to find work.

Glad everyone is doing mostly well smile

Collowrath

PostPosted: Thu Jun 04, 2009 1:16 pm
So, I just acquired a writing magazine from the grocery yesterday. It has lots of tips for good writing, and a couple pages of weekly writing prompts (from next week up through next May). I'm thinking I should try it out.

Has anyone else ever done something like that?
PostPosted: Thu Jun 04, 2009 1:57 pm
I would definitely recommend that Collowrath. I remember in writing classes that often for the first 15 minutes of the class, we would be given either a phrase, quote or word to write into a story, or write a story about, and from those I was able to get some of my best work.

Two partial updates for peoples.

I got an Acer. Yes, one of those dinky little laptops that is oh so cute and adorable but you have to wonder how an adult actually can type with the keys so small and far apart.

And the second, I'm in Phoenix again, getting the final measurements for the Navy tomorrow, where then I will have an Officer's interview and look over what jobs are available (based on my ASVAB) and be able to take my oath. I won't be looking to ship anytime soon, particularly if I choose a well sought after job, but I will be hoping it's by the end of this year.

I'm soooo excited!!!
