I'm at such an unusual place. I desperately feel the need to resurrect family traditions - which are firmly Catholic, keeping in mind that Slavs often have a Double Faith (Двоеверие, in my case, Dveviere)... which I'm confused enough over. Trying to recognize what is pagan and what is Christian is mindboggling after what? six hundred years? of Christianity. I find myself looking to American Voodoo for a glimpse as to how this syncretism plays out. Not that I co-opt Voodoo, but reconciling Christian concepts of deity and pagan ones has been very difficult, considering ever since I can remember, I've been a polytheist.
Lately, I find myself hugely drawn to the Orthodox church. Music, icons, the beautiful Serb church just down the road from me... (interesting coincidence, the fledgling Slovak Orthodox Church was consecrated by the Serbian Church).
On top of that, I've had amazing experiences at the hands of the Deathless Ones. Since my initial experiences, I've taken to worshiping the Greek Gods according to their Orthopraxy as best I know it - and they've definitely let me know when I've misstepped! I try my best to uphold their standards of purity, and I feel much better off for it.
As it stands though, I'm just really confused. On one hand, I have Slavic traditions inherently tied to both Christian and pagan religion, and then I have the Hellenic religion that has become central to my every day life. I feel like I've fallen into a deep well of doublethink and I don't know how to sort it out.

Today was my last day of high school classes.
Monday I go to school for senior prank, and some seminars about taking YHVH to college with you, etc. [oh, Catholic school].
Thursday I have a philosophy final.
The Saturday after that is Graduation.
And I'm never looking back.

Ashley the Bee Gho the Girl What are the requirements to be a Christian? Orthodoxy wise. Hm! Trying to think of the minimum... following the Law of Agape? The belief that Yeshua bin Yoseph was the Christ? This actually seems like it could be an interesting... or, "exciting" topic for ED:M&R, actually... what are the most basic points of Christianity? Of course, I somehow suspect that Tea will answer straight away with a consist list. ninja I have a life outside of Gaia. sweatdrop I swear! Minimum is the belief that Yeshua instructed Agape to be the context for proper service to YHVH. Anything other than that and you start excluding Christian denominations based on personal preference.

Toasty Marshmallow are there any other good pagan guilds on gaia? I tend to recommend Midnight Moon. It's not at the same level as here, but it's not horrible either. You can at least check it out 3nodding .
