Taliah Turning 20 is a strange and in-between business. A year too young for (legal) alcohol and adulthood, and two years too old to be deemed a minor/kid. Good-bye teenage years, you were very informative and full of self-finding experiences... too bad I still have a bit of the angst hanging around though. sweatdrop I turn twenty-one in a few months and still feel like a teenager most of the time. sweatdrop I'm past the angst though, (mostly) act like an adult, and generally get treated as one though, so it's very odd.

This is why our culture needs better Rites of Passage.

TeaDidikai This is why our culture needs better Rites of Passage. I'm in 100% agreement. Too much of American culture seems wishy-washy about growing older. I appreciate the birthday parties and the sentiment behind them, but other than cake and presents, there really isn't much meaningful sustenance behind the event.

I'm almost 30 and still feel like a teen -- but just the good parts and none of the bad. And in terms of our culture's scanty rites of passage, well, I still haven't had a single drink of alcohol. Heh.

MoonJeli I'm almost 30 and still feel like a teen -- but just the good parts and none of the bad. I can understand that. Quote: And in terms of our culture's scanty rites of passage, well, I still haven't had a single drink of alcohol. Heh. I've never been drunk myself. 3nodding

Oddly enough, I've gotten sick from drinking, but I've never actually been all that drunk. I tend to stop at tipsy. Never had a hangover.
This is because I get sleepy when I drink.

I'm the same way. I tend to fall asleap before I drink enough to make me sick. I rarely have hangovers, and even then they are very mild.

I just like being the sober one who remembers are the silly things the drunk person did.

I tried to get drunk once. Three days later with no sleep or food, drinking pretty-much only alcohol, I got tired and gave up. ninja

Terence and Vanessa enjoy microbrews and good wine, so there's a small selection in the house, but I've never joined them. We also have a bottle of local absinthe that my mates are trying to get me to try, because usually all I can smell of alcohol is ... well, alcohol, but I can actually smell the anise and other herbs in that. But I just don't have the drive to do so. XD
I stick to delicious delicious tea as my drug of choice. Hehehe.

Asahi Sara Recursive Paradox I went to a convention and sold my weird and creepy art to anime fans. Needless to say not much of it sold because anime fans of the youthful variety in this area don't seem to appreciate the freaky confines of my mind that much. Oh well. I still made a profit. That's too bad. Which convention was it if I might ask? I have a number of friends that have sold art at the artists section at AX last year. I'd like to see some of your art! It was at Toracon. I'm too poor to get tables at big cons. crying My touched up art isn't online yet. I'm working on it.

I don't really drink much anymore. I've got some dependency issues I need to work on from past issues with dysphoria.
And I had one particularly traumatic experience in the last few years that has made me extraordinarily wary of alcohol.
