My policy is not to lend stuff that I mind losing. Like, if I let someone borrow something, I know there's a chance I won't get it back; if I'm not ok with that, they're not going to get it. I'm not-confrontationalist though, so if they don't give it back I ususally don't do anything other then erm, not lend them anything ever again ^_^

i only lend stuff to people that i truly trust...and only every so often...either that, or i just give them (actually it's just one person) something, like my really cool coat
i don't mind giving her stuff, because i know she'll prolly take better care of it then me and she gives me an equal amount of stuff anyways

example: a month ago, i gave her my spitfire jacket that i've had for a while and have accumulated many patches and pins on, so that way she wouldn't be cold...just recently, she bought me an italian leather long coat made with genuine lambskin for christmas (but she gave it to me early cuz i had nothing else to keep me warm)
