TheDisreputableDog Calixti TeaDidikai If you had to make a list of the five things (not beings with a pulse) that you would take with you if you were forced on an unbearably long pilgrimage, what would they be? Depends. We talking an international journey? Urban, rural, or wilderness? Over thinking it.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I've written down the questions not covered in the listing and sample lease. If anyone has any other suggestions or advice, I would appreciate it, either here or in a PM--I've never actually lived on my own, so I'm a bit nervous. Making lots of lists of the sort of information I'll need, regular monthly costs, and apartment essentials (like a vacuum; the apartments here are ALL carpeted. crying ).

Really? neutral I asked because if it's international, one of the five would be my passport, possibly my military ID for the second if it's near a military base. And urban, suburban, or wilderness would determine whether or not I take my laptop.
EDIT: Actually, I'll cheat on the passport and ID and just take my wallet, with my SS card too. And a dummy wallet to carry somewhere obvious, like in my pocket, in case I get mugged or pickpocketed. So that's two right off the bat.

saint dreya maenad nuri downside of the call center: "Happy Easter!" "Happy Easter!" "Happy Resurrection day!" "Happy Easter!" At least it's not like Christmas where it was a full month of greetings. I can deal with two days, that seems appropriate. i'm just sad that Easter Sunday, of which i work, i can't tell clients "happy shagging, chocolate bunnies day", or "happy zombie jesus day!" my grandmother looked at me strangely for the latter, so i said "would vampire jesus be better?"
So my dad started working at the shelter about a year ago. Early on, he worked Easter morning just before going to Mass. About 6 in the morning (letting the men who weren't working sleep in) he wakes everyone up yelling, " WAKE UP! CHRIST IS RISEN AND SO SHOULD YOU!"
See where I get it from?

See where I get it from? bah! i'd like to see empirical data that says he rose at 6 am in the friggin' morning.
or at least, that would be my response at that early.

saint dreya rightly, in order for it to evolve, it needs to be from the inside, not someone arbitrarily fastening it to something that it is not for the sake of "can't we all just get along" and "we shouldn't be exclusive, let other people get a shot". Something tells me I'm going to get verbally raped by this from people who know linguistics better than me. But doesn't language in general evolve the minute it gets introduced to the publics? After all, god knows how many terms that are now in the dictionary were introduced or have changed from their original meaning.

I'm moving into an apartment, mind you with other people, next year. I have the lease right here in front of me.
I would ask about furniture and appliances. Like if personal air conditioners are allowed, if there is a gas connection to use gas stoves, etc.

SpaceTerminal Destiny saint dreya rightly, in order for it to evolve, it needs to be from the inside, not someone arbitrarily fastening it to something that it is not for the sake of "can't we all just get along" and "we shouldn't be exclusive, let other people get a shot". Something tells me I'm going to get verbally raped by this from people who know linguistics better than me. But doesn't language in general evolve the minute it gets introduced to the publics? After all, god knows how many terms that are now in the dictionary were introduced or have changed from their original meaning. languages are built by the common usage of words. which is providing the biggest struggle against the use of "Wicca" as of late. quite literally, the dictionary is only a collection of how words are used by the most number of people.
and yet, "evolve", meaning to gradually develop, is not the best word for what is currently happening with so many accepting poor scholarship for a specific religion. to my mind, it's akin to Tacitus and his horrid habit for commonly referring the Celtic and Germanic tribes interchangeably - just because so many people accepted it doesn't make it right. now, we're trying to sort through all that info, and have made the decision to separate Celtic and Germanic inconsistencies.
i would consider it evolving, if it was gradually spanning itself, to some extent how it has already, to other religions similar (Alexandrian and then some). however slapping it on something because of a current misunderstanding...nope, not evolving.
