Hackers/scammers need to wake up and realize they are trying to screw up a virtual world. rolleyes These are pixels, not real life items. I hope you can get back into your account soon, Mel.

Yeah I've got back in. Everything's still here as it should be.

The other night when I had this issue, in over two hours I still couldn't get in when it said I was only blocked for 15 minutes. When I logged on yesterday though, it allowed me no problem. I couldn't log in from 8:45pm GMT (as I'm in the UK), but I wonder if Gaia's clock is screwed up and that it said 15 minutes but that it ended up being much longer because the US is 5-8 hours behind?

I got another message about it today. I haven't tried to log on since about 10pm last night my time, and the message I've just picked up shows yesterday's date at 1:51pm. I'm getting: a.) irritated, and b.) very confused.

Oh! And Egyptian Dragon, though it's a virtual world, there are a lot of people who pay real money for certain items like the monthly collectible letters and Gaia cash shop items.

I know, but unless the hackers somehow get real money off of hacking an account, the only thing in it for them is laughs and braggin rights (unless you are one of those that owns a site that actually sells off real Gaia items for a mint: who would buy them, I can only imagine. rolleyes ) Either way, they need to get out of their parents' house and get a real life.

On the note of hacking in a virtual world, I would be royally pissed if someone rand off with my Kiki. Though I must say I am overly attached to that bunch of pixels.

But Mel, that sucks that you had to deal with that, a lot. Glad to know they don't ban you for good, though, if you screw up on your password.

I have to agree with Gornwen cuz, I also have grown attached to certain of my silly non existent stuff like, my chocobo, my dragon (on my KB account) and a few other things. They're really cool to look at and I've had to pay for at least half of them. rolleyes

Hackers and scammers on a site like this, all I can do is shake my head and think how ridiculous that is. It's more lame than the playground bully.

Well I got another e-mail saying I'd been blocked again yesterday, though I was able to get straight back in as it occurred when I was, funnily enough, offline and not on my computer at all. I have some unique passwords for every account I have online for different websites, so guessing them would be folly.

I am also attached to my bundle of pixels that is my avatar. I would cry if I lost it all, but then get back on track in life because it is just the internet, and nothing real. Or is it? rolleyes xD

Again Mel? Sheesh, you would think that these hackers would need to use the potty once in a while!

My account was hacked into once, they stole my Mythril Halo, which really made me angry, since it was my first collectible that i ever got. I still need to get a new one.
I don't see why someone would want to hack into accounts on gaia though, makes no sense to me.

And the other thing is that my old password is saved on this computer, and I am used to just hitting return. I can't stop it from remembering that password now. I'd rather type it in nowadays now that I've changed it and all of this crap is going on, but it's still a force of habit.

I got a message twice saying that if I got multiple failed logins my IP address on this computer would be banned. Sheesh! Nice aren't they. Put in an option that says "I don't want this password to be remembered" and it might make life a bit easier for me and hundreds of other users.

Anyhoo! The local volunteers centre wants to send me on a voyage with a group of young people this autumn. Woohoo! Need work, and money, and time off to do these things when I do get a job!

Did you report it to the admin B-rad?

Note: when I sent e-mails to the Gaia admin about the problems I was having, they didn't seem in the least bit worried when they replied to me.

because for one thing, i hardly knew how the site worked at the time, i had only been on a short while. then it had been so long, i figured that they probably wouldn't do anything about it anyway.
honestly, i still don't know how to report something like a stolen item. sad
could you please tell me how??

I've never had to report a stolen item (touch wood), but I would guess you contact a moderator, or probably better to e-mail info@gaiaonline.com or admin@gaiaonline.com

It'll be in the contact information somewhere on the home pages.
