Well, I just had an interesting conversation. Friend of a friend just claimed to be part of something called the Danse Macabre, which is a spiritual duel held in Pandemonium, the capitol city of Hell.

And of course, its secretive, and neither him, nor his demon guide could reveal its real nature or history to me and my friend. rolleyes

You guys always seem to have more interresting discussions with your friends... (or people you know.) I always end up with talking about birds (lots of neighbours are protectors of our native birds) or babies... (everybody seems to plop them out nowadays. rolleyes )

I'm sorry, Phoenix, it happens to the best of us.
Did he pass by a poker game, butlered by kit-kat demons by any chance?

Not that he mentioned. Although he did get kinda pissy when we interupted his "last rites", as he is destined to die tommorow night in this thing.

I knew something was up when the first thing on Danse Macbre in Google was a link to a Stephen King book.

Oh drat... evil I've met a otherkin!!!

She claims to be a werepanter! gonk How do I get her back on earth?
Convince her she's really just furry, then introduce her to the Burned Furs group. She'll either snap out of it, or wind up screaming bloody persecution. At which point, liberal application of the Trout of Forgetfulness is in order.

(Side Note: Burned Fur is/was a subgroup of the furry fandom dedicated to sloughing off the lifestyler/otherkin/zoophile/cub/AB attachments to the core fandom.)

When you see him the next day:
walk up to him
punch him
yell really loudly
make a point of being able to punch him
and then say
"Funny, I didn't know punching dead people hurt".

True. I know a few. Then again, the well-balanced Otherkin I've known tend to be very spiritual and respectful about it as well. There are also those who truly believe that under the right circumstances they will in fact change form to show the true nature of their souls. I most usually hear the "were-something" term used by those of the latter persuasion in reference to themselves. The "normal" Otherkin, as it were, I've found on the whole (again, within my own experience among known 'kin) to simply refer to themselves as "something-kin". Pantherkin, Leopardkin, Wolfkin, Lemurkin (I honestly know a lemurkin).

Then again, I wonder if any 'kin who can be convinced that they're really "just furry" is truly a 'kin at all. Does "Fluffy Bunny" strike a strange chord when speaking of 'kin to anyone else?

Badgerkin is the only one I'm allowed share.

I wear my Fetch from time to time, but only by her consent.

I'm doing some research now... Is this a new thing? It sounds awfully floaty to me...

The otherkin community grew out of the elven online community of the early-to-mid-1990s, with the earliest recorded use of the term otherkin appearing in early 1996

Not that old then.... surprised
