I've just discovered that one cannot make pudding (at least instant) with soy milk, and even with the little bit of "pudding soup" I just ate (stuck the rest in the freezer to make fudgesicles) my poor lactose-intolerant tummy is very unhappy with me right now. Anyone know of any kind of lactose-free pudding mixes out there? I'd hate to have to give up something else that I find delicious every once in a while.

RP *hugs* I hope you hear from them one way or another soon. Waiting around, being uncertain, is even worse than a bad reaction IMO.
I wrote a letter to my old cello teacher (basically a big sister to me, definitely part of the family) when I came out to her, and I didn't hear back from her for a really long time, couldn't get ahold of her on the phone or anything, and I started flipping out. It turned out that she was taking her time while she figured out the best way to come out to me as well lol

Also, my friend just posted this on her facebook. I figured it would be enjoyed here: The Golden Rule

The letter arrived a week ago.

There has been no response to date. No letter, no email, no phone call, nothing.

I wish I knew what to say here sweatdrop The most I've got is to try not to let it get you down. It is possible that your Dad is just taking his time and thinking it through so that when he is ready to talk to you he doesn't say or do something he really doesn't mean.

STD does not like geese. My university is like a Canadian goose sanctuary, they are everywhere, even during the freaking winter months when they should be down in Florida or something. And our geese are hostile; apparently they will attack people. gonk

And I can hear Native drumming happening downstairs. rofl

*snuggles* It's a lot of things. It's hard for some people because rapidly shifting values based squarely in secular consumer culture can make it hard for people who do not already have a firm background in other significance (be it religious, family, or whether crops will grow) have a harder time understanding when people prioritize differently.

And then, there's always kicking them if they continue to be stupid. Yay, kicking.

~huggles~
It's interfering with my current job hunting when my previous employers almost universally say "makes frequent and unreasonable requests for blocks of time" neglecting to mention that I was almost the only person at any job who covered other people's shifts when they called in sick. confused
Most of my turn downs have been to the tune of "we need someone more reliable". rolleyes

I'm already prone to violence, suggestions of kicking and immolation are not falling on deaf ears.

Thank you everyone for your support. I still haven't heard back but I'm just hoping that he's formulating what he wants to say.

In other news, I'm dealing with someone who seems to think that science has disproven religion and magic. When I asked for citations of the peer reviewed articles of this evidence against religion and magic, he just whined and made a lot of unbacked claims.

Unfortunately, it's in the witchcraft thread, which is in the GD. So me dragging out my old school quote splitting ED style smackdown will probably go largely unappreciated by the little ignorant git.

I'm curious about this witchraft thread. Could you put in a link?

Happymaking news: I got an e-book reader! Yey! biggrin

Angrymaking news: ABC ConvertLIT quit working about a third of the way through my collection of .lit files and won't work at all now, says it can't find file C:/abclit/humpty.exe (reversed slashes). It makes me want to stab things.

So, I've had tattoos a plenty before.
I have one on my right arm; one, or two depending on who you ask (I say two), on my left.; one at the base of my spine and one on my right shoulderblade.
I have a high pain threshold. None of the tattoos I've had caused me problems. I sat through all of them from start to finish.
The chest piece was so painful, I had to stop. I got it lined, which needs to be touched up and I got the shading started but oh Gods the pain. The pain was so bad, an hour and a half into it (with two breaks taken) I couldn't continue. I had to leave it.
I'll admit the filling was nowhere near as painful, but I was just too tender.
When the Bephanten's dry, I'll upload a photo.

Try to ignore the first post. It puts up a painfully inaccurate definition of Wicca and it's already been addressed several times in the thread now. So bringing it out again is really beating a dead horse in that thread.

Keep in mind, it is the GD. So be ready for whining and sadness if you challenge someone's opinion. Cyrus has visited a few times and Wyndy is a regular like myself.

My new tatt.
Warning.
I have been ill for over 18 months. My body mass reflects that. That photo is not for the feint of heart.
