I've been thinking about getting a hedgehog. I need to do more research though.
So very cute. 4laugh But from the people I know who have time, since their nocturnal they can be rather noisy at night.
To say nothing of the fact that they're delicious and their spit is very useful too. ninja

The Indubitable Katie-Kat
I can't have birds. sad

I do want mice or rats though, but I have cats. Three of which like to eat mice.

Our one cat would like nothing more then to eat our mice. She did figure out how to open the old cage, but cats can't work bungee cords 3nodding . If you're worried about your cats then get an aquarium with a screen top. They need changed more often because they don't get as good of airflow as wire cages, but they are much safer when you have cats. Plus some cages they say are good for mice aren't. They can sometimes squeeze through the bars.

Like I said earlier rats are fun. Plus they will fight back against cats. Most cats won't take on a full grown rat one on one. Rats are tough little fighters.

Hmm, next year, depending where my group decides where we're renting, I might get a fish or a small animal like a mouse.

If you decide on mice and only want one get a male. Females are very social and don't do as well when singly housed. Males can be very territorial so do well by themselves as long as you have time to interact with them.

That was awkward.

A girl on my floor, her fish died today. She and her friends were sitting around the fish tank and not knowing what to do. just now, one of the girls came and asked me to scoop the fish out of the tank with a cup. Oh boy....

I don't have a common understanding of "pets", as all the animals I have ever kept have been "working" animals.

You're probably right.

The good news being that I haven't had a fish in decades to dishonour with improper burial/flushing rites.

Not counting the ones the cat ate, of course.

Oh they flushed it. It was the fact the girl who owned the fish didn't know what to do get it out (it was right at the bottom), so I grabbed the cup, stuck my hand and cup in and scooped it up (while making sure not "to sever the head").

Three of the girls were just sitting there.

xD Despite the fact that two of them are in International Development, one is in Environment and Resources Studies, and the one who came to get me is in my program, Urban Planning, they are also very concerned about their looks.

Of course, the fish owner was bawling. sweatdrop

Was it just a beta fish?
