The Indubitable Katie-Kat
So this cold from hell I've had for a week tomorrow is probably not a cold. Turns out, my roommate, whom I presumably caught this illness from, had strep. Not a cold.

And even though I came down with symptoms identical to hers a few days after she did, she didn't say a word.

Now, call me crazy, but if you're sharing a room with someone who gets the same symptoms you have after you've been sick a few days and you go to the doctor and get diagnosed with strep throat, shouldn't you make a point to tell the person you're SHARING A ROOM WITH, "Hey, I've got strep, you may want to visit the doctor"? instead of letting her cough her lungs up for a week and live on cough drops, ibuprofen, and tea, while thinking it's just the cold from hell?

Ouch! >_< Yeah, I'd call it common courtesy to inform your roomie when you have something nasty and contagious. Mine just got back from a trip home and brought the flu with her. She was good enough to tell me, and miserable enough to list all the symptoms.

@Paradox: I hope it goes well! heart heart heart

I just sent a letter to my father, telling him that I'm transgendered and that I intend on starting hormone therapy (I didn't have the heart to tell him I've been on estrogen for almost three months now... x_x)

Very brave of you, all the same. I wish you the best, and hope he understands.

*HUGS* I hope everything goes well.
I know my fiancee went through hell when she came out to her family, but they came through and they're all incredibly supportive now. They don't always understand all the time, and her brother drives me nuts on occasion, but I won't get into that right now.

RP, wish there was something a little more potent than words of well wishing and comfort that we could do.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 20, 2009 1:34 pm
Don't worry about potency, I've got a good support network here. So anything that needs a more potent aid has it with just a quick call and a short 5 minute drive.

i strongly dislike pointless family drama. i have a good feeling that this is the Big Rift, you know, the one that splits your family up forever. i thought i was going to be the one exiled, but it turns out that my mom is on my side, surprisingly. i don't do anything. i don't parade my views around, i don't splay my propaganda everywhere. no, the basis for the upset is because i own a few books on paganism and witchcraft and feminism, i have an altar set up in my room, and i'm vegan.

holy absence of tolerance, batman.
