mute_coyote I imagine most people don't think about their gender identities too much. Beliefs and expectations about gender can be so deeply ingrained in culture that it can be hard to assess your own place within the whole thing until you or someone else transgress the norms. As someone outside your culture reading the above writings, I see you as someone with a very strong gender identity. Maybe you don't normally see it as such, because it's so ingrained in your culture and worldview? That's the crux really, I suppose it's where you are from. By the standards of my own home region, I'm not considered very masculine at all, in thought or behavior. But where I live now, I am often considered... odd... for quite the opposite reason. xd Regardless, it was good to air it at least, I do apologize for any offense. 3nodding You know, in a strange way, I am mortified by the thought of anything of mine being kept for posterity. Even my burial arrangements are very... anonymous? Some people dread being forgotten, I think I am almost more worried that I shall be remembered. It's odd I suppose. 3nodding TeaDidikai Bi Pride colors are Blue>Purple> Pink. I had been unaware. sweatdrop Now I looked arround, even found the Bear Pride flag... Here I thought it was a conservation group's colours. So, what are Straight pride colours?

I borrowed Twilight from a cousin, to read it and ensure that I wasn't being unfair and that I will have my own opinion to work from instead of just Twilight threads.
200 pages (so far) of adjective-whoring, awkward word use, cliché teen angst, and obsessive boys with no signs of a "deep" or "intriguing" plot to further the story other than her unexplained infatuation with Edward (sorry, I don't count the "he's so hawt" as a reason), whom she acknowledges isn't human and is dangerous.
Only 300 more pages to go. gonk

Taliah Only 300 more pages to go. gonk You can do it! *waves little flags* Despite how... ah... unimpressive the writing was, I found the Twilight books oddly readable in a dime-store romance novel kinda way. Once I got started, I just burned right through. The occasional snicker or face-palm that inescapably cropped up didn't slow me down too much.

Fiddlers Green I had been unaware. sweatdrop I was too until my friends who had a shop with a pride section gifted me Bi and Kink pride jewelry. As well as a pretty poly-pin. Quote: So, what are Straight pride colours? My suspicion is that "pride" focuses on minority status. wink

Gender is really a cultural thing, and it's fun and useful to hear different perspectives. 3nodding

I watched Twilight, for a similar reason. It was... not to my tastes. neutral
There's a Poly-pride insignia as well?!? blaugh I must apologize, but this all seems so... different from what I am used to. I can see the validity in it all, but it still seems so very much.
I am glad I have not offended, I am very good at accidentally doing so, and therefore am worried that I might be doing so with regularity. 3nodding

Fiddlers Green There's a Poly-pride insignia as well?!? blaugh Three interconnected Venus/Mars symbols. Trans-pride insignia I have seen has placed them all on one circle. Quote: I must apologize, but this all seems so... different from what I am used to. I can see the validity in it all, but it still seems so very much. I'm not into the whole "Pride" scene for the most part myself.
