hmmm... I like this idea! My friends and I have been talking about making home bases to come back to, since we all want to travel the world. This island plan in intriguing... I will have to bring it up. The links are great, btw! There's one in Scotland that looks extremely promising. It even has canons!

And there is no problem that cannot be solved with cannons! mrgreen

LOL, Berz! Absolutely! And Hod and I actually know how to fire one and maintain it... we did Civil War re-enacting as kids (I think he actually still does it!)

And I'll bring horses, and teach anyone to ride who needs to learn. smile

I like the idea of an island... easier to defend. *grins*

The drawback is we'd have a problem becoming self-sufficient. Less land to farm our needed food.

Yes, we decided we all want to live together on an island that we all own; we're gonna build castles and stuff, and we'll acquire a ship for you so we can fend off pirates and get to the mainland for grocery runs... Hod's going to garden, we've got enough historical enthusiasts to staff a whole royal court, I'm going to breed horses, and Berz joins several of us in a fascination with large, wheeled firearms. *big grin*

Now we just have to become fabulously wealthy somehow... smile
