Hoo boy. Drama in the dorms.
Since last fall, there's been this one girl who has given the other seven of us a fair bit of trouble. She never talks to anyone except to ask for class notes, cleaning supplies, or silence. The cleaning supplies thing is a little ironic, since she never cleans up her messes in the common areas (including vomit from the time she got sick). When people tried to talk to her or invite her places, she'd either ignore them completely or brush them off. This quarter, she refused to sign our cluster agreement that would allow us to get our balcony opened. When our RA tried to discuss the problem with her, she was rude and unwilling to cooperate (which is especially bad since our RA is incredibly nice to everybody).
Thus, we felt perfectly justified in restricting this girl's access to the commons. We put up a sign stating that anyone who hadn't signed the cluster agreement wasn't allowed to use the television (which another girl brought) without first asking permission. Furthermore, the shared mini-fridge and microwave were off-limits. If she refuses to take on the responsibilities of living in a community, then she loses the associated rights. She tore the signs down.
I walked in on her demanding two of the other girls tell her who was putting signs up. I told her we all had. She said it was rude. The whole thing snowballed into an argument. Grievances were aired. She played the victim and stormed out.
On the one hand, I feel rather bad for her being surrounded by hostility; on the other, I've never met anyone so adept at making enemies out of genuinely friendly and forgiving people.

Nope, a sophomore. And here's the kicker...
She actually lived in the dorms last year - a cluster, just like now. At the beginning of the year, she talked about how mean everyone in her old cluster was and how no one wanted to be her friend. A lot of us this year tried to talk to her, invite her to events, etc... We were continually brushed off, and now she's lobbying the same complaint that we never tried to be friends with her. *headdesk* I have a pretty good guess as to what really happened her first year.

Agreed. So around when my roommate was watching High School Musical today, I gave up on studying for my sociology exam tomorrow. I'm going to get up early to finish studying while she's in class instead.

I'm trying to decide what to buy with my tax refund. We put $200 on each of our credit cards (slowly paying them off) and we're each taking about $100 for mad money.
What books should I buy, people?

I wonder if my mom got some last time she went to the UK last month <....<
