After two days off due to snow, it was back to life today.
However, after a brutal snowball fight between 12 people, I have pulled muscles in my right arm, right leg, stomach and back.

Unfortunately, the schools are open again, it's bloody awful walking home. You are under attack from all angles by 14 year old boys. xd
It was agreed between my friends that if one of us were to be hit and fall...we were lost and the rest were not to turn back.

Hurrah for free trips to Chicago and Boulder!

... Now if only it was a free trip to Chicago/Boulder because I got accepted into the graduate program instead of being for interviews. At least they are considering me though, so hurrah!

I'm so glad that I have the prof I did for my comparative religions class; the woman is seriously one of my heroes! She's a cultural anthropologist who studies the various people on pilgrimage to Rocamadour. Seriously, I would do anything to have her job! And I can't wait for the day that she takes over as head of the anthropology department at my uni because the current head totally idealizes the cultures that she writes ethnographies on and it drives me crazy!
My intro to sociology prof was also pretty amazing. He began our class by telling us that "I will crush any nationalistic fantasies you've ever had about America"... I have him quoted on my facebook profile stare

As for history, I got my childhood historical education from my grandfather because he knew that our school system would teach us s**t.

Very nice. surprised

For my part, I found that the quality of my free/compulsory education has thus far been far superior to any of the education I have had to pay for.
The only blaring hole they left was the fact that the War Twixt the States is referred to as the Civil War in most other areas. Other than that, I have yet to pay for schooling that has even come close to the quality of public education I received. Which is sad really, as I hear that so many public schools aren't as good. sad

...wtf?

Apparently, that month and a half long death cough was due to dehydration. Temporarily suspending disbelief, the doctor in question told me that my dehydrated state was lowering mucus production in my nose.

Which in turn lowered the amount of mucus so much as to dry out the nose and allow dry air to make it directly into my airway and lungs. The lack of mucus production also meant that the normal amount of protective goo in the human nose wasn't in place, which meant that any new stuff made had little to cling to and became post nasal drip, further worsening the cough.

So I was basically told to gargle salt water (gets rid of the post nasal drip), use a salt water nasal spray or dripper (boosts mucus production and moisturizes the nose) and drink an epic load of water.

They prescribed water. Either my doctor is an idiot or I am. >.<

Nuri, are you a Chicagoan? xD

I know people in Chicago, as well as one of my good friends is going to study nursing over there.

Grew up in the suburbs. Now live in Bloomington-Normal. Chicago is a train ride away (Romuel visits me all the time!)

YAY Boulder! That's where I grew up and it's the most amazing place I've ever been... of course, I haven't been to all that many places yet, but still! I'd love to move back there, but the cost of living in insane.

The worst possible answer!

Don't you just hate it when you ask someone a question about something you have deep, grave concerns about and your told
"You don't need to worry about it" or some derivation thereof!!! sad

Nuri, is there a big college/university in that area that specializes in nursing? ninja

Also, my cousins live in a Chicago suburb known as Naperville, which is full of rich upper-class brats.

@Tea: Macs are full of win. Good luck!

Yes, very much so.

Another thing I hate is when you puit faith is something for answers and don't get any helpful ones.

Mac's are love.
I have never had a computer last so long, give me so few problems or be as robust as this machine.
It's in its fifth year of service and only now starting to give me troubles. Since upgrading operating systems, my computer actually got faster. I s**t you not. I installed an upgrade the equivalent of converting from XP to Vista and my computer became faster to respond to commands, capable of running more programs simultaneously and there was only a couple of gigabytes in the difference.
Just, please, for the love of all that's holy, give OS X a whole three months without installing Windows. Let yourself get used to the idiosyncracies.

Illinois State University in B-N has the Mennonite School of Nursing, which is a BS program and very very good. My friend went through it and now works in the local ER.

That's where I grew up, actually, and had my first adult TAing job. You'd be surprised at the level on non-rich upper-class brats. It's a decent minority.
