I used to bite my nails a lot more than I do now. I hate it when they hurt and I like nail polish. The only trouble is that my nails are brittle so when they get to a certain growing point they either break or the first layer of them peels off so they look gross and I cut them off. Anyone know how to grow long natural nails when they peel like that?

I have exactly the same problem. I try protecting them with nail polish and such, but more often than not, the polish peals off along with a layer of nail. Grrr

I know technically they have "nail repair" items out there that are intended to prevent flaking--- but I don't know if any of them actually work.

The one I tried was an emery board..... with nail strengthener in it. Yeah okay..... it didn't peel that time it shattered. It wasn't just an ordinary break. LOL

"Nails which seem thin or brittle or peel away easily are usually the result of an inadequate diet."

"An inadequate diet is the most common cause of brittle nails and therefore, easy to treat. Adding more protein and calcium to your diet will help to strengthen undernourished nails and Nail beds. Using a vitamin and mineral preparation formulated to rebuild strong nails is an excellent treatment, as well. Those with digestion trouble, including heartburn, constipation or irritable bowel syndrome, may have significant trouble with brittle nails. Adding extra nutrients to the diet and a doctor approved vitamin and mineral supplement works well with most patients."

I just found that through google, so I have no idea how true it is. I've never really had trouble with brittle nails. They do sometimes chip and end up different lengths, but that's about it. Mostly it's just that I'm too lazy to file them. XD

Get a vitamin E lotion or serum and rub that into your nails and nail beds about once a day. I don't know if this is scientific or not, but it worked for me.

Didn't know where else to put this. I've noticed that this guild's gotten strangely and eerily quiet and I don't like it! sweatdrop I'm starting to worry about us as a guild now and hope that we don't disband. sad

I don't think that will happen. Most people seem to post on here late at night. You figure, it's saturday, so everyone is probably out doing stuff. It'll be okay. I promise! xd

I'm back, I'm sorry. My younger siblings graduated from High School yesterday, so I was extremely busy with associated things. Apparently I missed something...

It's good that we're better. I admit to not being sorry I missed that whole thing, although it is sad that the explosion happened in the first place.

I don't blame you.

Instead of having front row seats to the row, I was attending a (mercifully short) convocation ceremony, and then playing the role of "bouncer" at a party of 17-year-olds.

It was a dry party, and mostly made up of people who would probably fit in well in this guild in a few years, so it wasn't all that strenuous, but it was exhausting even so.

So if I'm quiet this weekend, forgive me. I'm floating about, but I'm really down in the dumps for some reason, I need to think through this depression.
