I did absolutely nothing for Halloween. Didn't dress up, didn't go to any parties, went to bed at ten o'clock. We didn't even get any trick-or-treaters. Thought about marathoning the more "horror" episodes of Buffy, or watching the scarier episodes of New Who (like The Empty Child/Doctor Dances [those gas mask creatures are freaky, okay?], Blink, Midnight, etc.), but was too tired.

I fail at Halloween?

Hehe neither did I. But us suburban Brits often don't. xD
I got 3 hours sleep the night before, so I had an early night.

A couple friends and I dressed up and handed out candy. There weren't many people out. We ended up giving out huge handfuls of candy in order to get rid of it. Last night was way slower than it's been in years. Usually there are a ton of kids out.

But I'm not British! (yet) I live in the Midwestern equivalent of suburbia. ><

Ethermus Prime
Exactly. Make no mistake. This is no Undergraduate rebellious college student political ideal.
never thought it was. you know i value your opinion more than that, xp

Ethermus Prime
Furthermore, the idea that Voting is a duty is ludicrous. It is a right, a Right is something you can choose to do, or not to do. There should be no scolding for that choice...social or otherwise.
i wasn't intending to scold you for not voting, but rather trying to understand (through more confrontational means, i admit) where your reasons come from. i will not scold many on their specific actions, whatever there result, but rather the thought and reasoning behind it.

means justifies the end, in my book (which is part of the reason if i play nine ball and the nine ball goes into a pocket i didn't call, i lose).

Ethermus Prime
Beyond all this, I don't support the ideals of Democracy in the slightest, so once again I take issue with the idea of voting.
who ever said we had a Democracy, evil . while yes, there are points of operation in this country that seem democratic, i still contend that this country is all a Republic (electoral college is a perfect rendition of this, as some states don't enforce their votes to swing as the voters request).

blah, i'm in full support that our system needs an overhaul. sadly, not much support to enact that overhaul.

but thank you for expanding, 4laugh

I'm angered by that. Why? Because, Galen, my former highs school principal (as of last year) has the balls to call my former school community "integrated".

So for Halloween I didn't stay home and give sweets to children, nor did I costume up and run around causing havoc. I took part in a mass invasion of a friend's house - she'd had dental surgery done and was feeling sore and in need of cheering up - and then went to the pub. Brilliant fun!

My Halloween was sort of just a mini party esk thing. We watched movies like The Princess Bride and gave candy to the little monsters outside.

^^

Not that many kids made it to our apartment after they went through the drunken fratboy a*****e gauntlet before us... >.>

Darn, I missed all the Gaia Halloween hijinks.

Halloween was kinda fun... ish. My costume was slapped together quickly after witnessing a Wal-mart Halloween section stripped bare by 4 the day of. They had one set of "Gothic faerie wings" that I put together with a black dress, stockings, and high heels. A bunch of little girls loved the wings lol

Also, miracle of Satellite programming. The episode of House that has the G~ family airs tonight on USA at 6 Central Time. So for those who are curious, I hope you can find the means to see it. smile

I love scientific ethics classes. ^^

You can take really unpopular stances in your presentation and generate lots of discussion by making everyone really angry.

...does that count as real life trolling? ^^;;;;;
