I voted Before everyone.I voted the second I registered. I voted, by not voting. My choice is "None of the above!"
you could have just as easily written someone in then.

sadly, as the past two elections have demonstrated though, a vote not for one of the primary candidates is a vote for "the other guy".

perhaps i'm taking my genitalia too much to heart. perhaps i'm taking the fact that i am part of a group that was the latest to be "given" the opportunity to vote a little too personally. perhaps i'm taking it pretty hard that i'm expected to vote for someone because i share that same genitalia...

perhaps i even take the adage entirely too liberally - "use it or lose it". or even "be the change you wish to see in the world" - Ghandi

if one is not doing something to change it, then i feel one has forfeited one's voice to complain.

okay, off my soap box, with clean feet.

I hear some people are writing in John Alpha.

Ethermus Prime, I'm sad to hear George Carlin's legacy has been forgotten so soon.

Why? The lack of choice is not the only issue. That makes my thoughts and opinions a Farce.

Immensely, considering you personally did nothing to earn this right...There are few people today who suffered for their suffrage....This sentiment is equatable to some 13 year old black kid yelling at me because My people enslaved his people....

In my opinion, Using it Is Losing it. If only in this case...

Oddly enough, I agree. And this is why I abstain from Voting for "the lesser Evil". In the absence of Good Choices, I opt not to choose.

Perhaps it's cause my father always told me" When given two choices, take the third"

Since when did Voting count as Doing something? Checking a box is not the same as doing something...at least not in my case. In case you haven't figured out, I'm very outspoken about my political opinions.

I'm just voting for Obama because he has a chance in hell of doing something good for the GLBT community.

Specifically for the trans community. We get ******** over by everyone else. >.<

*wishes everyone a Blessed Samhain/Beltane (for the southern hemisphere folks)/Halloween!!!*

I'm choosing not to vote this year either. While I absolutely don't want the one guy in, I don't believe that the other one can do what he says he can do, so I chose neither.

It was a hard decision to make, I have voted in every presidential election since the year I turned 18. But I don't think I should have to vote for the "lesser of two evils", so I'm not voting at all. If I would have thought about it sooner, I might have tried to start something on a national level...the "no" vote. Maybe if we all say no, someone will get the point that we're fed up with all the crap they are feeding us.

Ok done now...sorry! redface

A bit off topic...but has anyone else noticed that Tea hasn't been on lately? I hope she's okay.

Oops, ah s**t. I should remember to use the word partner what with the neutrois-ness and all.

Hide keeps on using "she" when we talk about Morgan and it scrambles my brain. >.<

On an aside, my voting history has included, but is not limited to C'thulhu, Nader, Chernunos, Tchernobog, and Colin Powell.
as has been demonstrated numerous times before, the popular vote doesn't make a lick-spittle of difference in the Presidential race.
The electoral college exists, and electors are not even required, in all states, to follow the popular vote of their state.
I think I will write in Dissolution of the Federal Government on a future ballot, just to express how much of a farce I consider the whole stinking mess. ninja

Happy Halloween! For those of you who care! I get to be a FAIRY! *cough* It's what I had around, okay?

And yeah, I've noticed Tea quiet too. I assumed real-lifey things going on.

never said i did (and i rather think "doing nothing" or "not doing anything" to earn a right that's already given to me is a moot point, since i can no longer do what has already been done), however i will not squander the effort those women and men put forth for this right.

i'm not saying you're people enslaved my people. i'm not saying, whoa is me, pity me. i'm not saying, i is oppressed. i'm not even mentioning how much racism and sexism there still is today.

i'm saying that perhaps i take it less for granted that i do have a vote, for as little as it might count to the red electorals (Tucson is a blue blip, btw, in a red state, Arizona).

i cannot see how mere abstention, without movements, creates any change. mind, this is in absence of knowing what else you might have done; impromptu speeches, articles in papers, flyers handed out, etc.

without voting, one does not "toss their hat into the ring". personally, i'd love to see if there couldn't be a significant number of people, in an absolutely horrid election, who wrote in the same thing (i'm sure there could be a massive campaign for Cthulu or the Flying Spaghetti Monster).

i'm rather saddened when i hear people just not voting. yes, it could be in protest. yes, it could be because you don't agree with any of the candidates. yes, it could be a third choice instead of two. and that could just as easily be done by writing someone in, or even voting for either of the other two who are running, besides Obama and McCain (yes, four people are actually running).

maybe your counties vote differently than mine does, but we've also got state legislation, budgets and constitutions to vote on, and some state officials as well. Arizona is finally attempting to define marriage between a man and a woman (ye gods, wtf). there are policies up for debate on warranties when a new house is bought from a builder. there are school budgets. our other congressman, Grijalva, is up for re-election (very liberal).

in not voting, one also forgoes their say in their state, which is possibly more effective as they're the ones to get many things to federal. what about Sheriff? what about State Supreme Court?

it's more than just about who will be president...

Exactly. Make no mistake. This is no Undergraduate rebellious college student political ideal. I personally call for the dismemberment of the united states government. The American experiment needs to come to an end, we need to burn it...so that from it's ashes can be born something....useful.

Furthermore, the idea that Voting is a duty is ludicrous. It is a right, a Right is something you can choose to do, or not to do. There should be no scolding for that choice...social or otherwise.

A duty comes from a right. Not the other way around. I have a Duty to uphold your right to vote, I have a duty to uphold your right to bear arms, I have a duty to uphold your right to free speech.....

We do not have a duty to act these rights out. If that were the case, then it should be the duty of every citizen to be armed.

Beyond all this, I don't support the ideals of Democracy in the slightest, so once again I take issue with the idea of voting.

My Halloween was spent working in a haunted house on campus. I got decked out in a black cowl, lots of black greasepaint, and even some black hair spray and then topped it all off with a white mask. Basically, I was that one creepy living mask in the blacklit hall of masks. I got quite a few screams out of people. One girl even fell over. X3 Now, to get all of this greasepaint off....

We went to Halloween dance and danced for almost 3 hours straight.

And we come back to find everyone either drunk and super hyper from all the sugar. rofl
