You exaggerate things a lot Mandy. Not saying you're not feeling well, but I've spoken to you and it doesn't sound like flu. A normal cold for me is like having horrendous flu and I can still manage to get out of bed. Diabetes lowers the immune system, and I'm a lot more prone to them - it's a fact that it makes illnesses worse. Life's a b***h sometimes.
Anyway, I'm back from the voyage now and through doing random shifts on watch at all hours of the day I am shattered. Midnight till 4, sleeping for two hours and then having to be up for breakfast, cleaning the ship (happy hour), working the ship, dozing for a couple of hours in an afternoon, then being on watch again, ie: 8pm till midnight, then going to bed with the ship bouncing up and down violently on the waves and not being able to sleep, then more watch duty, more bouncing on the waves of the Irish sea, and a couple of nights ago, as well as the dipping and diving of the bowsprit there was also the ship listing over to the starboard side. This meant that my entire night was practically spent on my leecloth (a piece of material hung up on the bunk so you don't fall out of bed). There was a LOT of this.
