BlueRoseTorn TeaDidikai With Motion TeaDidikai That's you in your sig right? Yup. I'd guess early twenties myself. Maybe the person just isn't good at guessing age? I've always been awful with guessing ages. I always seem to overshoot it. I remember being in the second grade, and my teacher announced that it was her birthday. She asked us to guess her age...and I blurted out "FIFTY-FIVE?!" She was thirty-one. I thought she might cry. sweatdrop Whereas all my teachers, in their use of examples, made it really easy for everybody to figure out their ages. xD

TeaDidikai Tell us more Tattered?! I missed a memo somewhere. sweatdrop Absolutely! I bragged about it last week or something, but I may have posted at the end of a page or the like. Part of taking the film-tech classes and building cred to get into the union is participating in a local event called Duke City Shootout-- it's the world's only film festival where the filmmaking is part of the festival. Writer/directors send in their scripts and the top seven get flown in to make their short film with a (mostly) local crew.
I'm in the art department for a film with a guy out of LA who won last year's competition. He's nobody big, mostly directs commercials, but he's clearly got some promise. But I'm in the art department, and he's been really vague about what he wants until we locked the location, which was Tuesday. Then he got sort of specific, and he decided he wanted this whole courtyard dressed up. Which would have been fine if we had, oh, another week, but we don't. Starting Saturday, we've got four days to film, probably pulling 12-16-hour days. xp
I'm pretty excited, and in the end, this should net me an IMDB credit, which is way cool. So that is my story! When I know how I did (screening and awards are the 2nd of August) I'll brag some more. wink

I was thinking a bit about Mr. Darks recently. About how there are common themes of being some kind of special "chosen one," some overwhelmingly evil force, being the only one capable of doing battle with it, etc. All of this makes the person feel special, heroic, and important. After doing a lot of yardwork recently, I realized that they could have all this simply by taking up gardening. For example:
"Our yard is vast and possesses great potential for beauty, yet it is overrun with vicious weeds and overgrown shrubbery. Alas, my parents lack the interest/time to perform many of the necessary chores. Thus, it falls to me, the college student home for the summer, to wage war against these overwhelming forces! With my tough leather gloves and powerful pruning shears, I shall beat back the tide of encroaching vegetation and free up ground for new (more aesthetically pleasing) growth.
A rapid, slithering flash of light on carapace reveals the presence of a vile earwig, but I shall not retreat! With my gloves and tools I root out their nest, scattering the disgusting creatures. They shall find no respite near my home! I work furiously, but cautiously. I must be constantly on guard, not only against earwigs, but spiders, including the deadly Black Widow. Though I face these many perils, I will never back down, never retreat, for I am The Gardner! scream "
