Splashpaw's white tail abruptly shot up in the chilly air.
"Must it be morning already?" she mewed as she stretched her stiff body.
"It's so cold though!" she hissed to herself, her ear twitching in discomfort as she got up from her nest. It was still cold.
The she-cat shook the moss from her gray-and-white pelt, then padded into the clearing. Her expression lit up at the sight of her denmate, Badgerpaw. "Hi," she mewed to the tom.
"Kindlestar!" she called to the ginger she-cat who was making her way toward the entrance.
"May Badgerpaw and I go with you?" she asked, her voice urgent.
The young she-cat hoped her leader could bring a couple of apprentices along.

((I have a feeling you will keep that promise. xd Sorry bout that, but I had been waiting for a response from Firesong, and it never came, so I just went ahead with the time skip. whee I can just tie up Thrushpaw when Firesong thinks she wants her apprentice as warrior though. 3nodding ))

Kindlestar looked to the side as she heard a voice calling to her, and she noticed Splashpaw heading in her direction. At her question, the leader's ears twitched in thought. The last time two apprentices and a warrior had gone out, they had been attacked, and it had resulted in the death of an apprentice. She knew, however, that she could not be reluctant to take her apprentices out forever, as they needed to learn the borders, and Waterflower was an agile cat, able to help her in case anything did happen.

She looked the two apprentices over, and reluctantly gave a nod. "Why not? The two of you need to learn the borders of your Clan," she answered, a gentle gleam in her eyes.

Noises on the outside were starting to make the tabby warrior mutter in his sleep, and soon after, his eyes were wide open. He sighed, unhappy at being awake so early, especially when he and Thrushpaw didn't have to go hunting until much later during the day.

Out of the warrior's den, he saw Kindlestar being surrounded by a good portion of the new apprentices, and a sneer crossed his face. "Well what do you know, Kindlestar seems to be the new queen of the Clan," he snarled in a joking tone, keeping his eyes on the apprentices, his tail flicking with amusement.

Splashpaw bounced in reply. "Okay," she meowed to Kindlestar.
"When are we going?"

“Says the old queen.” Duskwind mewed as she emerged from the Warriors den, stretching her legs and giving him a playful smirk. She was glad the tom had gotten back to his old self. The war's casualties seemed to have shaken him up, not that he would admit it.

Smilepaw opened one eye as he heard cats starting to waking up. I don't want to get up... He thought as he put one paw over his eye. But if I don't get up then I'll miss all the fun! And of course if I don't get up I'll get an earful from somebody and then I'll have to replace the whole camp's bedding. The young tom flipped on to his feet and walked slowly out into the clearing.

((Something like that, but as I said, we can just revert it. People seem to have never taken that into account, so let's just suppose something happened in the process that makes FireClan have regained that land. whee ))

Dawnlight looked back at the deputy, his ears flat. "Who are you calling a queen?" he asked, his eyes glinting dangerously.

A purr escaped Kindlestar, and a mischievous look crossed her face, her whiskers twitching with amusement. "Well, this new queen could always use the helping hand of an old and experienced queen. I am so glad you decided to volunteer, Dawnlight," she mewed, her voice making it obvious that despite the fact that she was kidding, he was meant to accompany them. Splashpaw's question made her snap back to reality, and she looked at the young apprentice, who was already her size, same as most apprentices were when they were just apprenticed. "We will be heading out now. Duskwind, you are on hunting patrol duty. Please take Thrushpaw and Sharpclaw with you," she added, looking at the deputy, then headed out, ignoring the incredulous look on Dawnlight's face.

((So sorry!!! You can make thrushpaw a warrior anytime, and I can't pick a name, so whatever you decide is fine. Gr...there's no excuse for my inactivity...))

Firesong lay in her den, the sunlight streaming in and hitting her fur, making it appear to be ablaze. She hardly noticed the effect, however. She was feeling incredibly tired today. She might just lay here for most of the day, except that once again, the wounded had completely decimated her herb supply. She sighed, realizing she'd have to go for medicine soon. Maybe Thorngaze would go with her? She'd have to ask him when she saw him.

Thrushpaw awoke in the apprentices den just in time to see the new apprentices dash out and talk to Kindlestar. He purred, seeing how eager they were. He noted that Dawnlight was going with them. That meant that someone else would be taking hunting duty. Duskwind was talking with Kindlestar, so it could be the experienced warrior who was going to take them. Thrushpaw stretched and headed out of the den, padding towards the group. "So, did the hunting party change?"

((I will be giving Thrushpaw his warrior name before the next time skip, or at the end of this day if you want? If you decide on a name before the ceremony though, feel free to just post it. 3nodding

"Yes, Thrushpaw. You, Sharpclaw, and I are going hunting." Duskwind said to the apprentice while she scanned the camp for Sharpclaw to tell him.

Thorngaze charged into the medicine den with two bundles of herbs in his jaws. "Good morning," he meowed to his mentor before padding past her. The tom's ear twitched once as he sat down to organize the herbs, his hard ice-blue eyes lost in thought.
"I'm going to collect some more herbs since it's almost leaf-fall." he meowed as soon he had finished organizing.
"Do you think we should look for catmint?"

Splashpaw stayed quiet as she followed Kindlestar, her nose twitching constantly as she adjusted to the new smells.
"Yuck," she muttered, a strange smell wafting towards her.

Sharpclaw got up and walked over to Duskwind who just said her name.

Warstorm looked around camp.

Lightningpaw sat in the apprentices den, watching the cats of camp beginning a new day. The clan to him seemed to recover from the fight, or war as everyone else called it. He yawned, since he has been up before almost everyone in camp.

He decided to walk around, hoping to wake up a little. He felt unsteady as he padded around camp, looking obviously exhausted.

Firesong looked up at the young medicine cat, who must've read her mind. She purred. "Yes, we'll definitely be needing catmint." She stood up and stretched, getting ready to head out to help her fellow medicine cat.


Thrushpaw nodded. He headed to the camp entrance, waiting patiently for Duskwind and Sharpclaw. He wondered idly if anyone had collected moss for the beddings lately. Probably not, with everything that had happened. He decided to go get some after hunting patrol.

Sharpclaw walked over to the enterance and next to Thrushpaw and waited for Duskwind to lead them out.

Warstorm looked around camp and saw Sharpclaw at the entrance ready to leave I'll talk to her when she gets back.

Thorngaze nodded. "What else do we need?" he added before shaking his dusty pelt.

Badgerpaw jumped in surprise, he had ment to go find Emptykit but now he seemed to be going on patrol. "Ah, well i was um . . " but everyone looked so excited. "Ah ok then." Emptykit can wait . .
