Thrushpaw felt slighted, though he did his best not to show it.

They aren't taking me? Why not? Don't they think I can handle it?
Thrushpaw shuffled his paws a little, but simply nodded.

They're leaving me behind. They're going to avenge Sparrowpaw without me. But getting upset about it won't fix anything. It will only make them think they were right. I've got to suck it up and stay strong. Pebbleclan will pay for what they've done.
"Right, I guess someones' got to watch the camp." His eyes were slightly downcast, but he looked up at Dawnlight with all the strength and nonchalance he could muster. "Give 'em one for me...and a lot for Sparrowpaw...Okay?"

Dawnlight nodded down at the apprentice. He had noticed the paw shuffle and he smirked. He could tell his apprentice wanted to go, and that made him glow with pride. A warrior was never afraid of going into battle, and he obviously wasn't.

"However, there are too many inexperienced apprentices being left in camp. I believe that there should be more warriors left to defend it. And what better to motivate you than the knowledge that you must make it out alive to avenge your denmate," he growled, his tail flicking, drawing a small cloud of dust as it dragged on the sandy camp ground.

He turned his view towards the leader's den, knowing that Kindlestar had already gone in. "I know someone was reluctant to leave you behind, but Firesong recommended you stay, that you were too close to this. Oh well... what's done is done..." he sighed, then turned around again, heading towards the fresh kill pile, deciding to take something to eat before sleeping the night off.

Warstorm looked at his apprentice "I was planing on taking you out for training tomorrow morning."

Sharpclaw looked around camp then walked into the warriors den.

Lightningpaw wasn't thinking about what time of day it was, then it it hit him. He suddenly felt exhausted, wanting to rest. But he nodded in response, feeling he had something to look forward to.

"Alright, I'll just go rest up for tomorrow then."

With that, he headed toward the fresh kill pile to eat something before sleeping off of everything that occurred today. Well, that sure was an eventful and long day...

Midnightpaw nodded at Smilepaw. "Good nighty." She walked into the den and was asleep in a matter of a minute, her body hardly able to be seen it was so dark

Duskwind looked up at the starry sky. Sparrowpaw... She padded up to her former apprentice's lifeless body. "I'm so sorry. This never should've happened." she whispered. She wanted to get some sleep so she could get up early to help with the burial. She walked to the warrior's den much slower than usual and with a swirling sadness in her eyes.

Smilepaw was hit with a wave of sleepiness. He didn't even notice the sun go down, the day had gone by so fast that he couldn't even digest what had happened. He yawned and headed towards the apprentices' den, letting his paws lead the way while his head started drooping.

((I'm gonna fast forward Firesong. She's got some herbs and is coming back to camp))

Firesong walked into camp, making a beeline for her den. Our den again...she realized joyfully. She dropped herbs in their respective piles before making a second bed of moss for Thorngaze. She curled up on hers deciding that she was going to need all the rest she could get.


Thrushpaw wandered over to Sparrowpaw, curling up next to the fallen apprentice. He couldn't stay awake and expect to be able to do anything tomorrow. After all, he was probably going to be babysitting the other apprentices...
Besides, he felt a wave of exhaustion overtake him, and quickly fell asleep.

"Thank you." the tabby tom mewed, copying his mentor’s actions; his green eyes glowing in the darkness. He didn’t feel tired from all of the traveling herbs he had eaten during his journey but it was best to rest before tomorrow.
Thorngaze circled his mossy nest, and fell down with plop.
“It’s nice to be home…” he muttered, drifting off.

"I can't sleeppppppppppppp."
Fadingkit fell into her nest with a plop, her gray fur sticking out like thorns. Which was partly true, because her nest was a mix of thorns and moss; mostly thorns.
"I wonder if I get any moss from Firesong?" she mewed aloud, shaking her pelt before curling up again.
The she-kit began to sleep peacefully once again, her nose twitching.

 

[Kitsune Thistletree]

A faint light crossed the masked face of the ginger leader, her yellow eyes scanning as she viewed her Clan's camp and how quiet it was in the early dawn light. Close by she noticed Dawnlight padding towards her, his face full of determination. She opened her mouth to greet him, but was interrupted by his words.

"I think it is a mistake taking so many warriors... I was thinking last night, and it will mostly be apprentices... new ones at that, guarding the camp. Maybe we can leave at least one of them and take one of the more experienced apprentices?" he asked, his eyes staring straight into hers, letting her know that he was not backing down from his request.  

[Dood-sama]

Flamewind stopped breathing as the sun gave its first glint of light that morning. She apparently had passed in her sleep in the Warrior's den.

Fadingkit woke up within the second the morning rays fell across her face. Freed from her nightmare.
This poor kit didn't have much sleep, but sometimes, it was best to be awake than asleep.
"It was only.. a dream." she muttered, breathless from the experience.
I w-wish that Gingerkit and Brackenkit was here... she thought aloud, her eyes dull from the depressing thought.
No! They wouldn't want me to act like this but act like a warrior!
Fadingkit stood up with her white chest puffed out.
The gray kit padded out of the nursery, ready to make trouble like any other day.
"Good morning!" she mewed, racing up to Dawnlight.
A little random greeting always brighten her day.
