A late night drive to relieve boredom has inspired me to write a short story about an insomniac.

I do so love being insane, sometimes.

RD- This sounds like fate, as though you needed a huge push to get out of that nasty job. It sounds like the right place for you- may I ask what you'll be doing with the new company? It's also amazing how some work environments just have a positive energy with coworkers. I think when people are happier they are much nicer to each other and it makes it easier to click.

Yes, you may ask.

I am now working at a call centre promoting Alberta tourism. I'm affiliated with a government ministry within the province, but not working for the government.

People will call me or e-mail in to get travel advice, maps, brochures, etc. and I can help them decide what attractions to see based on their interests, and hopefully convince them to stay longer in Alberta. There really is a lot to see here.

I really don't believe in fate, but this is a much better fit for me than just about any other job I have had. I'm looking forward to hitting the phones on Tuesday!

That is an excellent fit for you. You're someone who strikes me as having an avid love of culture and history- at least you do when it comes to Africa, so I'm hoping you have at least a little of that for Alberta. You also have a panache for thinking outside of the box as far as attractions go- your essay about your experiences in Korea shows that you have a bit of a gift for seeking out wonderful gems to visit. Also if your screen name is any indication you're probably more than used to people coming to you with questions smile

I dare ask again another technology-based question in hopes someone can help me. Well, actually this is to help Steven, but here goes: does anyone know anything at all about the battery used to keep time on a Gateway Solo (laptop)? Model # SOLOPRO 9300 We are trying to find out if the battery's bad or if something else is wrong, but we don't even know what we're looking for. We are currently ordering a replacement battery for the main computer (the one that keeps power, etc.), but we're looking for the one that keeps the time. If anyone knows anything about it, a picture'd be nice, then please help me. whee

A question for you beautiful people: Does anyone here wash new clothes before wearing them? Don't ask me how this subject came up, but I was discussing it today and I don't do it. Apparently that makes me weird. confused

There's a separate battery that does that? I could be completely off, but one time when I opened up my desktop to clean it out, I saw one of those button cell batteries like they put in watches. Does your laptop have something like that?

I don't wash them either, but my husband insists that his need to be washed first. People always yell at me for it too, because it's unclean if someone else tried it on first. Husband wants his washed first because he says it makes them more comfortable though.

Depends- I'm a grad student so natural every load of laundry costs me $3- and I don't do laundry that often (for said reason). Also I'm not sure if after wearing a top or pants for a few hours I might discover I just can't stand it. I hate to return clothing and washing the clothes seems to be like breaking the seal. Once I wash it, it's mine, no going back.

I make a few exceptions- mostly underwear and that depends on how bold I'm feeling. If it's in a nice sealed bag- oh well, but I would NEVER ever wear a pair of panties that has been in a bin in the store without washing first.

Having worked in inventory those panties are often so poorly organized that piles of them tend to fall in the floor during the counting process, and the tags are in them in such a way an inventory taker really has to handle them to get the bar code. I can only imagine what abuse "bin" panties suffer from on the customer side of things. I haven't seen any men's underwear sell this way, but it is a note of caution. I at least don't want something that's rubbed against the un-swept concrete floors of a target touching against my most intimate regions.

I do out of force of habit from washing a lot of other people's laundry. Seems to be a popular thing. But I won't consider other people weird if they don't. I've also been in the position many times where I needed to stretch apart the days I've needed to do laundry for the same reason's amanda explained. $3.00 to $5.00 a batch and add up....

I wear new clothes before washing them, they're not 'new' after you wash them.

And for as much as I hate social networking sites, facebook just did me a good one. A friend from MIDDLE SCHOOL just contacted me. God, memories. . .

Nope! Never have. I just never saw a need to wash them and as Punk Fox TH said, "they're not 'new' after you wash them." 3nodding

Anyways, no worries about the laptop. We got it up and running again. Thanks to everyone who was at least kind enough to reply to me. mrgreen

Silly question- I bought an old E.I. on the market (the masquerade to be exact). How long does it usually take for a later gen to evolve?

Somedays I wish I had the income some of the customers that come into Mcdonald's seem to have to waste on breakfast every morning....
