Firesong shook her head, looking miserable. "Greencough claimed several over leafbare, the clans haven't been showing up to the gatherings, and just this morning, the Dawn Patrol was attacked by Pebbleclan. They killed Sparrowpaw. Kindlestar is launching a counter attack in the morning. We've got new apprentices and a new warrior, but things have generally been rather dismal..." Rather dismal was a slight understatement. Things had been a wreck. Firesong was feeling more tired by the day. Am I getting too old for this or am I just stressed? she thought sadly.

"I regret not knowing Sparrowpaw before his death."
Thorngaze meowed, shaking his head in shame.
"He hunts in StarClan now."
His ears pricked at the news of a new warrior and apprentices.
What he wanted to say was now gone, remained unspoken.
"Should we head off now?" Thorngaze asked, his fluffy tail gently quivering.

Smilepaw froze as he locked eyes with Dawnlight. "Uhh..I was err...looking at this intresting pebble! Yeah that's it!" he stammered his eyes darting between the big warrior and the ground.

Sharpclaw looked at Thorngaze and Dawnlight then sighed and looked back to Kindlestar "Who is staying in the camp?"

Warstorm purred when Thorngaze came in There's no way we can lose

Lightningpaw wasn't sure of what to do now. He noticed the new cat come into camp, but wasn't sure what to make of this situation. The most he would like to do was train, or something fun.

He looked across camp and noticed Dawnlight looking and talking to something. The made him stop and think. Hm...where has Smilepaw been? I haven't seen him all day, but this is one LONG day.....  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

Kindlestar looked back at Sharpclaw as she was about to enter her den, wondering what the warrior was getting at. "Everyone that wasn't mentioned of course," she replied, then headed into her den.

Dawnlight saw the apprentice's gaze waver and his whiskers twitched. "What is this I see? Is it guilt?" he growled, a hint of amusement in his voice despite the menace in it.

Midnightpaw looked around. She saw Dawnlight talking to Smilepaw. She purred, and picked up a pebble with her mouth. She walked over to them. "YEAH! It's a game we made up, we have to see who finds the most unique pebble, we were kind off bored. " Midnightpaw made up  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

Dawnlight flicked his gaze towards Midnightpaw, and his eyes scrutinized her as she carried a pebble in her jaws. "Pebbles huh? Good, crush them pebbles with rage. You will be defending the camp against them tomorrow," he snarled, his tail flicking as he padded away, his eyes still glinting with amusement, and surprise wearing off from Midnightpaw jumping in to save Smilepaw from an embarrassing situation.

Firesong nodded. "Right. We'd best get started." She headed toward camp entrance, knowing that Thorngaze would be close behind.


Thrushpaw felt impatient. Looking over, he saw his mentor heading away from the group. He padded over, trying not to look upset. "Dawnlight, what's the plan? What will I be doing?"

Thorngaze followed hastily, his eyes glowing in the wavering darkness. He felt gloomy all of a sudden.
It's nice to be home... he thought, his head low.

Sharpclaw watched Thorngaze leave and she remembered when she came back to the clan.

Warstorm looked around the camp seeing if there was anything he could do.

Smilepaw gave a sigh of relief as Dawnlight walked away. "Thank you. Dawnlight probably would've chewed me out for eavesdropping. I mean it's not like there's anything else to do..." he said as he looked around the Fireclan camp, a dull depressing feeling in the air.

Lightningpaw was padding around camp, noticing Midnightpaw and Smilepaw from a distance and Dawnlight walking away from them. What happened over there? Eh, I'm not going to worry about it for now...

He kept padding around camp a while longer, until he noticed himself near Warstorm. "Hey Warstorm, are we ever going to get to my training anytime soon?" He asked, needing something to do.

((You guys do realize it is nighttime. I will commence a time skip as soon as everyone stops doing their thing. xd ))

Dawnlight looked back and saw his apprentice approaching. His ears flattened as he knew that Thrushpaw wanted to take part of the action the day after, but if they were lucky, no action would take place in the camp at all.

"Well, you will be the senior apprentice in camp. You guys must defend the camp well, especially the nursery and the medicine cat den," he responded, knowing that the safety of the camp was very important while the leader was away.

Midnightpaw nodded, waited till Dawnlight was a safe distance away before saying, "Your welcome." She said, amusement in her eyes and voice
