Midnightpaw cheered Whisperheart's name along with the rest of the clan.

As the Clan went quiet again, Kindlestar continued. "Whisperheart, you will have silent vigil tonight. I will now speak with my seniors, Duskwind, Firesong and Sharpclaw to strategize for tomorrow. Get ready, sleep well, because tomorrow, PebbleClan will rue the day they heard the name FireClan!" she finished, her last words stressed out as she made her point.

Dawnlight yowled in approval of this and he felt his own body tense with excitement. He turned around and saw Thrushpaw, then padded over to him, knowing that he was the eldest apprentice now, and as such, he would probably meet battle. "Nervous?" he growled as he sat down next to the tom, licking his paw quickly before passing it over his ear.

Firesong headed over to Duskwind and Kindlestar, ready to talk.

Thrushpaw glanced up, seeing Dawnlight coming toward him. "Nervous? No..." He tried to come up with the right word. "More like...impatient..." He shuffled his paws lightly, wondering why the day seemed to be moving so slowly. "I'm just ready for this to happen, I guess."

Sharpclaw walked over to Kindlestar,Duskwind, and Firesong.

Warstorm watched Sharpclaw walk away then looked back over to Lightningpaw.

Kindlestar looked at her assembled cats and nodded at them. "I want to avoid another death, so we need to plan the team we take carefully. Midnightpaw, Lightningpaw and Smilepaw are out of the question. They were just apprenticed today, so they wouldn't know how to handle themselves in a fight. What about Thrushpaw? He is the eldest, now that Whisperheart has been made warrior. Do we take him?" she asked, looking at the others for council.

Dawnlight nodded, his head turned towards the body of the fallen apprentice. "We must bury him tomorrow. Tonight, he runs with StarClan for the first time," he commented, turning his head up to the sky and seeing the first signs of nighttime showing up. Kindlestar herself had taken the dusk patrol, and found no enemy warriors, and he felt somewhat relieved, for he knew she would have shred them to pieces without questioning first.

Midnightpaw watched as the clan went back to their duties. Now she just wondered what to do, she wasn't assigned to do anything.

Firesong shook her head. "I hate to say it, but Thrushpaw may be too close to this. If he loses his cool, we could end up losing another apprentice..."

Duskwind thought about what the medicine cat said and bent her head in thought. Too close? Am I too close to this too? Would I endanger the mission if I went?

(yes this does count as a mission xp )

((Indeed it does. xd ))

Kindlestar nodded, relief and dissatisfaction both flooding her at the same time. She wanted to keep the apprentice safe, and she knew that an apprentice's fighting moves could never match a full fledged warrior's, but she was sure that his determination would be very useful in the war.

Despite this, Kindlestar had more trust in Firesong's wisdom than in her own judgment, as the young leader would be facing her second war, and the first all she did was end it in terms that she knew most cats did not approve of. Her mind reeling in strategies and warriors she would take.

"Very well then, we need to leave warriors to guard the camp while others go to war. I will lead the first wave of attack. I will take Sharpclaw and Whisperheart with me. As for the second wave..." she hesitated, not sure if she wanted to leave the camp without leader or deputy to guide them. "Duskwind, do you think it would be smarter for you to stay protecting the camp as the senior warrior of the Clan, or would you rather lead the second attack?" she asked.

She knew that the deputy was as close to this as the apprentice they had just discarded, but Duskwind was an experienced warrior, and she trusted the cat to know when to retreat and when to attack, no matter how angry she was.

Sharpclaw listened to what they were saying and nodded in agreement.

Warstorm walked over to the fallen apprentices body Is anybody really so low that they would kill an apprentice?

Duskwind mulled over the decision. She wanted to avenge her apprentice, but she didn't want to leave the camp unguarded. The camp would be left with untrained apprentices and not many warriors. Duskwind sighed, "Kindlestar, I think it's best if I stay behind. If PebbleClan gets into the camp, I think we all know that we can't take anymore deaths." She looked at her old apprentice. "Just make sure to send those PebbleClan cats running."

Kindlestar nodded. "Very well then. Second wave of attack will be led by Dawnlight then, as I know he wants as much vengeance as you for the savagery he saw. I think it would be smart for him to take Warstorm and Sleetfur (Oh yes, inactive cat goes here due to lack of warriors). Teams will be small but well rounded. A surprise attack at dawn before their morning patrol. That way, the shadows won't help them," she mewed, knowing PebbleClan's sneakiness.

She then realized that they only had Firesong, so she would have to decide whether the medicine cat would stay behind to heal any wounded if the camp was attacked, or if she would accompany them in case the warriors attacking needed aid.

"Firesong, what will you do? Will you accompany us, or stay behind and help in camp?" she asked, looking at the orange tabby.

Firesong looked worriedly at Kindlestar. "I should probably stay here...if anyone gets hurt out there, both of us would be sitting ducks if I tried to do anything about it there. If anyone gets hurt, send them back to camp if they can walk. Just don't get hurt would be a better idea, though." She realized that she'd be of little true use on a battlefield. Still, she was a little sad that she couldn't go. She certainly didn't want to see any bloodshed, but it would make her feel better if she could be by her clanmates. Despite that she was a medicine cat, she was supposed to look after any injured cat. That would include Pebbleclan.

Thrushpaw looked over at the senior warriors, wondering exactly what the plan was.

After what seemed like moons passed, there a brown tabby padded across the moor that was once his home.
"I'm finally... here." he panted, stepping lightly on his wretched claw. "I'll get some comfrey for this soon enough." he thought, the opening of the camp coming in view.

"Should I wait out here... or go in?"

He thought about this for a second.
His fur were tattered and dirty, a scar across his right eye, and how skinny he was.
He looked like a rogue!

The tom chuckled silently to himself. "It wouldn't hurt to try." as he padded into the camp as if he was a warrior.

"Kindlestar,"
"It has been long time since I shared words with you."
he started.

"I go by the name of Thorngaze." he mewed, dipping his head.

Firesong's head turned toward the camp entrance as she heard a noise. Her eyes widened. Could it be...? Firesong began to shift around on her paws, looking antsy. The tom walked up and told everyone he was Thorngaze. My apprentice! Thank you Starclan...! She couldn't speak as he addressed Kindlestar, she could only stare.
