Thrushpaw bristled a little at the taunt, though he tried not to get too worked up. "Of course we can handle it." He said, speaking for both apprentices.

Midnightpaw turned to see Kindlestar. She shrugged, "Sure." She answered as she walked over to her mentor.

Dawnlight purred in amusement and turned to face the direction of the MoonClan territory. "Then let's go!" he snarled, then broke to a run to make good time.

((Imma guessing we do time skip on this part after this. Cursedstar just read my pm over the fact that a PebbleClan warrior will kill an apprentice, and she couldn't be happier. xd She said something about her boyfriend? I told her about Duskwind's character, not sure how that will work out. I will tell you when I get the details. 3nodding ))

Kindlestar saw that Midnightpaw looked rather unfazed, which made her curious, as all apprentices were either nervous or excited at their first day of training.

"You woke up early," she commented, taking a bite off the rabbit.

(I'm gonna be on less often since the test that decides if i pass the 10th grade is this week, but i'll still be able to post just not often sooo i probably can't kill Sparrowpaw....)

Duskwind yawned and streched as she awoke from her slumber. She looked around and thought about the prophecy, for awhile the burden was forgotten while she was in the nursery. She sighed and padded up to the fresh-kill pile and decided on a plump mouse.

Smilepaw woke up and noticed that he was the last one up. "Hmm not a good habit to have." he yawned as he walked out of the apprentice den.

Lightningpaw saw eating breakfast which was a big mouse. He noticed Smilepaw finally getting up as the last one. He keep eating and mewed over at him.

"Well, you finally got up. About time." He fished eating and started to walk around camp.

Midnightpaw purred for one moment before taking a bite as well. "I hate sleeping in late, besides, I don't mind it. I enjoy waking up early." She responded.

Kindlestar's whiskers gave a small twitch as she looked down at the apprentice. "Well, today we have to go and gather some bedding. I am certain that the warrior's den is about as dirty as mine, and the apprentices' den must be a mess."

She licked her muzzle as she took one last bite of her rabbit, then noticed that the sun was starting to show up on the sky. "The dawn patrol will probably be done soon," she added, liking to keep a schedule of the day in mind.

Midnightpaw opened her mouth to protest, but then closed her mouth and nodded. "Sounds fun." She said sarcastically remembering how the apprentices always complained about that.  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

Kindlestar's eyes glinted with amusement. "It may not sound fun, but it is needed. And it helps with your training," she mewed. She took one last bite of the rabbit and got up, stretching slightly. "Now let-"

A horrible stench interrupted her words. Blood. The blood of FireClan cats. She looked towards the entrance, and her eyes widened as she saw an injured Dawnlight walking into the camp, Sparrowpaw limp in his jaws.

"PebbleClan in our border... We drove them off... but not before..." Dawnlight started, then looked away. He had placed the blood stained apprentice on the ground, and he couldn't bring himself to say that he had died under his watch.

Thrushpaw limped in behind Dawnlight, out of breath. He had several deep gashes, and a hunk of fur had been ripped out of the end of his tail. He couldn't believe that Sparrowpaw had just...died. He stood next to Dawnlight, practically trying to telepathically give him support. He shook his head in disbelief.


Firesong caught the smell of blood and rushed out of her den. Spotting Sparrowpaw, her eyes widened. It wasn't that she'd never seen death like this, it was that the situation hit her like a charging badger. She looked up. The dawn patrol had lost an apprentice. 'When the rising sun takes the life of one of your own...' Firesong shuddered. It had begun...

Kindlestar's fur was on end. Her heart was beating fast and blood was roaring in her ears. The prophesy had already started, there was no denying, but she would never have imagined that this is what it would mean. Her face contorted in anger like she had never felt or shown before.

"PebbleClan attacked you?" she snarled in a demanding voice, her ears disbelieving it. Why does it have to be PebbleClan? Why does it always have to be PebbleClan? she thought, knowing that the last time her Clan had been at war, PebbleClan had been the culprit as well.

Dawnlight took a step back, fear in his face at the sight of the bristling leader. "I-it was..." he stammered, then frowned and snarled. "It was," he repeated more firmly, his ears flattened as anger started flowing into him from Kindlestar.

Warstorm ran over when he saw Dawnlight enter with the smelled of blood.

Sharpclaw jumped on a mouse and walked back to the camp with the catch in her jaws.when she got to the camp she put the mouse quickly on the pile then ran next to Warstorm

Thrushpaw gulped, more than a little scared to see Kindlestar this furious. He took a limping step forward, and started, "We were making our rounds by the border with Pebbleclan, and Dawnlight was teaching me about the different clan's scents when-" He stopped. Shouldn't Dawnlight be telling her exactly what happened? Yet the large warrior was not talking. Was he scared of her anger too?

Firesong snapped out of her thoughts. She walked up to the remnants of the patrol, looking over their injuries. "Nothing too severe," she reported to Kindlestar, "but I'll have to dress their wounds, or they could get infected."

Midnightpaw looked at the apprentice. Unlike all the other cats, the smell of blood didn't bother her. Instead she just sat down

Lightningpaw noticed the other cats gathered near Kindlestar, and could sense her rage from a distance. He sure didn't know what was going on, but he didn't want to become involved.

He walked over to Midnightpaw and sat down beside her. "Hey Midnightpaw, do you know what's going on?" He sniffed the air and smelled a foul stench. "What's...that smell? Is it blood?"
