"I think he is, but he gets distracted and sometimes doesn't do what he's told." Duskwind sighed. "But maybe my judgement is clouded..."

Kindlestar's whiskers twitched at this. "Reminds me of myself to be honest. StarClan knows I had a hard time concentrating. Do not worry, I am sure I know of the perfect mentor for him," she mused, getting up and padding towards the kits.

Midnightkit nodded,"I guess." But when she saw Kindlestar starting to walk toward them she sat up straight.

"Well I'm still curious..." Smilekit said, his tail drooping. Then he stood up quickly, alert with a glint in his eye that spelled trouble. "I'm going to get a closer look!" he said turning around, and froze as he noticed Kindlestar.

Lightningkit nodded in agreement and he sat up straight noticing Kindlestar, though he didn't want to look tense. He gave a smile to her as she came toward them.

Kindlestar saw the kits tense up as she approached and she purred in amusement. She remembered the time when she thought that Shadowstar was the scariest can in FireClan.

Keeping her regular posture, she sat down and looked at the kits, realizing that they were indeed her size or reaching it.

"I have good news for you all. We will be having a naming ceremony today, and you will all become apprentices. I wish for you to make yourselves presentable and join me at the Fire Rock. Head under it and I will announce your mentors so you may get to know them before your training starts tomorrow," she mewed, curling her tail around her snow white paws.

Sharpclaw looked at Dawnlight then at Warstorm who looked like he was about to snap at Dawnlight.

Firesong headed towards Sharpclaw, deciding to say hi before Dawnlight did something brash. She purred as she approached. "Sharpclaw, it's been way too long! How are you?"


Thrushpaw turned and saw Firesong approaching. He didn't want to interrupt their reunion, but knew that he wouldn't get a satisfactory answer from Dawnlight when he was this annoyed. Still, it couldn't hurt. "Dawnlight, that's Sharpclaw, right? Do you know why he left?"

Smilekit jumped out of sheer excitement and was speechless for a few seconds before he managed to say, "Thanks Kindlestar! I'm gonna tell my mom right away!" and then scampered away.
"Mom! Mom! I'm gonna be an apprentice tonight! Along with Lightningkit and Midnightkit!" Smilekit eagerly told Duskwind as he pounced around.

Duskwind gaze softened when she saw how enthusiastic the young kit was to become an apprentice. "I'm sure you'll do your best for FireClan." she purred. "Now let's get you ready for the ceremony, your fur is a mess! What have you been doing, rolling around in the dirt?" Duskwind said as she started grooming Smilekit's fur. "Agh! Mom I'm fine! Lemme go!" Smilekit protested.  

[Blitz Prower]

Lightningkit nodded and smiled at Kindlestar. "Thanks Kindlestar." He looked over to Midnightkit and licked her in between her ears with excitement.

"You hear that, Midnightkit? We're gonna be apprentices! We'll be able to be around the other warriors more often, and be able to go on patrol too!" He said with himself bouncing from excitement, since this was the only really exciting thing that he has experienced in a long time.  

[Nights of Nyx]

Midnightkit purred, "Great!" She squeaked but then calmed herself down. As her eyes met those of Smilekit, "I feel bad for him..." She said gleefully.  

[Blitz Prower]

"What do you mean?" He asked, hoping she meant that in a playful tease. He began to groom himself, taking up on the advice Kindlestar gave him, Midnightkit, and Smilekit.  

[Nights of Nyx]

"His mom" Midnightkit answered and then she started started to groom herself.  

[Blitz Prower]

"Oh, heheh." Sounding a little relieved. He missed his mom since he didn't spend much time with her, just like Midnightkit. That's what he liked about her, since they shared a lot of things in common. But he knew both of their mothers were watching in Silverpelt, so he tried to calm himself as he continued grooming.

Midnightkit watched himself, "Nervous?" She questioned.
