"Caramelkit what are you up to?" Duskwind chuckled seeing all the kits enjoying the new leaf weather.

Caramelkit's ears pricked up and she looked over at the duskwind
"Playing" she mewed brightly, her tail swaying softly as her eyes darted back to the beetle.

Dawnlight woke up from a small ruckus outside of the warrior's den and his ears flattened as he saw some of the kits playing outside. He got up and stretched, his claws digging into the dirt of his nest.

As soon as he got out, he saw Smilekit playing with a ball of moss with Duskwind nearby, playing with her kit. He sniffed her way and padded towards her.

"Letting your kit out of the nursery I see..." he sneered, sitting down beside her and grooming himself.

Caramelkit watched the beetle scurry off and stretched, then turning and bounding out of the nursery.
her multi colored pelt glistened brightly in the sunlight, and she let a content purr rise from her throat, enjoying the warmth.

Midnightkit stayed in the back part of camp. She enjoyed staying in the shadows. It's been two moons since her mother passed away, two moons since she joined the clan.

Kindlestar looked down as she finished a tasty lizard she had just gotten from the fresh pile and looked up, only to see young kits playing in the sun, enjoying the coming of new leaf.

A glimmer of pride struck the young leader, whom was now 12 moons old, still young even for a warrior.

As her eyes scanned the area, she saw one of the kits, Midnightkit, lurking behind, staying away from the others. Her ears perked up in curiosity and she padded towards her, licking her whiskers clean.

"Your mind seems to be elsewhere, Midnightkit. Is something troubling you?" she asked the dark kit, sitting down next to her and noticing that she was already almost her size.

Midnightkit looked at Kindlestar, "The shadows comfort me. Besides the other kits seem so.....odd to me" She said simply. Then with a slight nod of her head, "You seem to be feeling better." She told her

"It's been nice out since the snow left and besides, he can't be contained. Need to tire him out." Duskwind laughed looking at her kit.

"Two moons have passed. I would have to be either dead or better, wouldn't you agree?" she purred, her whiskers twitching with amusement as she eyed the kit.

"So tell me..." she continued, looking over at where the others where playing. "Why are the others odd to you? It is not common for a FireClan cat to enjoy being surrounded by shadows. We enjoy living under the sky, having our ancestors see us and bless us as they guide our pawsteps to aid our Clan," she mewed. She knew this kit was not originally from any Clan, and she was worried if her faith in StarClan was wavering, or if it had even ever been there.

Dawnlight purred. "Good. No strong kit likes to be cooped in," he sneered in contempt, wrapping his tail around his body. "It is the sign of a good warrior," he nodded approvingly.

Midnightkit glanced at Spicekit and Caramelkit, "It seems so strange, to waste time doing things that don't make sense. They play around when they could be doing other things, not wasting time." She answered. "And besides, the shadows are a place you don't need to hide from because no one will be able to see you."

Kindlestar shook her head. "You speak as though you have something to hide... And why not play? You only get to be a kit once, might as well enjoy it while you can," she mused, suddenly feeling like an elder for saying that.

She lifted her eyes and glanced at Dawnlight chatting with Duskwind.

"You see Dawnlight over there? He used to spend all of his time as a kit playing and pretending to be a warrior. Now look at him. His playing built strength as a kit. Strength that he now uses as a warrior," she mewed, her tail giving a light flick as she lowered her yellow gaze at the kit again.

Midnightkit flicked her tail. "If I had something to hide surely the clan leader will find out about it....." She told her Enjoy being a kit, pretending to seem as if life will be swell. Ha! She thought. "Well I can't wait till I'm not considered a 'kit' anymore." Midnightkit mewed to Kindlestar as she took a glance at Dawnlight.

Duskwind gave Dawnlight a surprised look. "Well look who's not grumpy." she purred. "But I know what you mean I know I didn't like to stay in the nursery." Duskwind said before the tom had time to protest.

Flamewind picked up a mouse from the fresh kill pile, and sat down to eat it. Before she took a bite, she began coughing again. [[no other signs of illness]]
