AntoniaMerEnfant chiwarriorcelesti I hearby propose a petition against winter. Once we get enough people to sign, we'll take it before mother nature to show how many people dislike the idea of winter. ^_^ I concur. I believe that when the temperature is too young to drink, vote, or go see naughty movies (a balmy 14 degrees F here in MO- USA) then it is -explicative- cold. *blows raspberry at you and your above 0 temptures.*

While I may not be a fan of frigid temperatures, I am a fan of winter itself. 3nodding So I disagree with this petiition to ban winter. You see if it wasn't for winter, we'd all be overrun with killer bees and other insects. Besides, if it wasn't for winter we'd have no spring. During the summer, grasses tend to get parched and need the nutrients that the snow gives them. Also if it wasn't for winter where would our "Winter Wonderlands" be?! I for one could never see myself enjoying Christmas day on a beach or decorating a palm tree with Christmas lights. I'm sorry. Plus there's just something magical about a Christmas snow or the first snowfall of the season. So I'm opposed to this petition aganist winter.

I don't really have a thing against christmas or the like, just the cold. Lungs have just come to greatly dislike the fall and winter seasons...

I agree. No one gets to complain until they are experiencing "******** it's cold!" temperatures. Edmonton was the coldest place in North America last night. Below -40, and it doesn't matter which units you're measuring in, cause they're the same at -40.
However, I disagree with a complete ban on winter. This weather helped me out this week when my fridge crapped out. I didn't have to throw my food in the garbage, just out the back door until my fridge was fixed.
Plus it kills pine beetles, mosquitoes and other nasties.
I just wish we'd been eased into it as usual this year. We went from "it's a bit chilly out" to "******** IT'S COLD" in less than a week.

RD_the chiwarriorcelesti doesn't quite get to -40 here in good old Wyoming. It's the damn wind chill here that makes it *bleeping* cold. *shakes fist in vain at Wyoming winds.* Ah yes, the wind chill. How its icy fingers burn. Try -40 with wind chill. A few years ago we had a week in January that was like that. Normal temperatures were around -40, and the windchill put us around -60. I was not amused. Not amusing at all no. Less so when your wind storms get strong enough to blow over Tracter trailers.(without it being a tornado.)
