Why would a 40K fan be excited about that movie?

I looked like... Well looked like a shitty movie.

I only said that about 40K fans because it looked to me like mass amounts of Imperial Guard fighting off an alien species. Sign me up at any rate. I'm a huge Cameron fan.

You could say the same of saving private ryan (guard versus rebels), starship troopers or aliens.

Avatar doesn't really look bland to me, but that's just me. As for those blue guys, they're the Navi, natives of Pandora from what I know.

Starship Troopers is a cult classic.

And Aliens is just a phenominal movie.

We had a starship troopers like movie scene at our GW, with Imps holding off against Nids in a closed off base, and a Valkyrie finally extracted the Imps.
All the while the Starship troopers sound track was playing.
Yea, I prefer the first one to the second..

Saw Inglorious Basterds last night with some friends. Very impressed with it. Though it did have some slow parts, Tarantino's dialogue is as always brilliant. Any fan of his should check it out.

G.I. JOE.

I stepped in with zero to no expectations and what I got was something that still managed to disappoint me.

Wow. Just wow.

First time ever I tried to walk out on a movie halfway through.

Sure there were these big battles but, UGH. Stupid characters, stupid actors, stupid dialogue, stupid plot, stupid power armour suits and stupid stupid stupid.

At least we saw trailers for both District 9 and James Cameron's Avatar.

G.I.Joe takes a deeper understanding of the franchise itself to like. Over the top weapon and ridiculous line and villains are almost mainstay. While I admit there was several key Joe points missed overall I was pleased. But then again I am a sucker for bad movies.

Transformers and G.I.Joe both had a lot that could be overlooked if you were a hardcore fan of the original series.

You see what I took was that it was more an amalgamation of the various run that G.I.Joe has had over the years. The Nano Machines yup those are cannon in the G.I.Joe world. Only in the Comic the were much more effective. The Night Raven the took what was more or less just a SR-71 Blackbird and changed it up I liked the redesign

I fully expected the GIJOE movie to not be like the cartoons and whatnot, but this is just the latest example of how you can royally screw up a great idea with a horrible execution.

As for the Tarantino movie, I'll be skipping it. The trailers made me dislike it enough already and the reviews I read just confirmed it for me: one big mish-mash of over the top cheesy acting paired with the Tarantino style dialogue that rambles on and on about something.

I'll pass. talk2hand

Actual that pretty much sums it up. Throw in an occasional gory scene and that was the movie. razz

Picked up three movies for almost nothing at the supermarche just now: the LEAGUE of EXTRAORDINARY Gentlemen, INDIANA JONES and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the Bank Job. Okay, two suck and one is gold, but it was four Quid so it's a bargain.
