Dawnlight nodded, happy to see that his apprentice still had energy in him. He remembered himself as an apprentice. Rabbitpaw had always had less energy than him, and had come back exhausted. He took care around her now however, as StarClan knew what Kindlestar had taught the shy apprentice.

Kindlestar sighed at Firesong's words. The Clan was in a crisis if the greencough really was spreading and if Sun was right. This is not the time to be relaxing!

Shaking her head, she looked at Firesong. "I'll try. Creamtail, I want you, Whisperpaw and Blazewhisper to take a patrol. If you see any strange cats, chase them off," she ordered, looking at Blazewhisper at this. "Tell Waterpaw she has sentry duty," she added to Whisperpaw, nodding her off.

"Um, yeah!" Creamtail said, nodding at Kindlestar and padding over to Blasewhisper, her old apprentice. "Hello there!"

Lionkit shifted in her nest and started coughing again

She woke up feeling warm. She looked around her......She remembered something about being taken back to a clan....

Dawnlight's fur prickled with mixed anger and embarrasment. Queen?! How dare she?! He placed the small kit on the ground and cleared his throat.

"Creamtail, Thrushpaw and I were going out hunting when Thrushpaw heard mewling. It was coming from this one right here," he reported, pawing at the kit. "When coming back here, Emptykit and Badgerkit were outside the camp playing by an old hole unsupervised. No doubt they sneeked out while Morningflower was sleeping," he finished, sneering down at the two.

Kindlestar's glimmer of amusement from Duskwind's comment was gone by the time he had finished telling her what had happened. She looked down at Emptykit and Badgerkit and saw fear and regret in their eyes. Well... at least they know they have done something wrong, unlike our last troublemakers... she thought, remembering Thorngaze and Dawnlight when they were kits.

"You two have broken a very serious rule. Not only were you outside of camp without a warrior, you left the nursery when I clearly stated that you were to not go out due to the greencough spreading in camp. I will have to punish you for this of course. Duskwind, Firesong seems to be getting more patients by the second, and you had said something about going out to get the catmint. Maybe you can take these two out to get it, over at twolegplace..." she meowed, eyeing the two kits, a small hint of amusement back in her eyes. "That, and you are to make sure that this new kit makes herself at home and recovers. I will ask Morningflower to see if she can take care of her."

"Firesong," she continued, looking at the medicine cat. "I know that there are others that are sick, but could I trouble you with one more outsider for the time being?" she asked, her ear flicking. "I will speak to her once she has fed and gained a little strength."

Emptykit snickered at Duskwinds comment. "Queen." She purred amused. Badgerkit flicked the back of Emptykit's head to make her pay attention. "Yes sorry Kindlestar! We'll make sure not to do it ever again! right?" He nudged Emptykit. "yaya" Emptykit grunted. "So we'll defiantly make up for it by collecting a lot of catmint!" Emptykit's ears had perked up at the idea of going out again.

Badgerkit looked nervously at the warrior looking at them. "whose that?" he whispered to Emptykit. Emptykit's hackles were raised, and for the first time she looked frightened. "Thats the deputy Blazewhisper dung-brain!" Badgerkit felt nervous about what kind of cat Blazewhisper could be that would make Emptykit so frightened.

Kindlestar looked down at the small kit and her whiskers twitched with amusement at the gleam in her eyes.

"Just make sure to do everything you are told."

With this, Kindlestar left the medicine cat den and went into the nursery. "Morningflower, are you here?" she asked, poking her head inside, the smell of milk and kits strong in the air.

Morningwind lifted her head weakly (oh yes i'm going there >.<) and violently coughed. "oh Kindlestar! I-i'm sorry i must have dosed off . . . wait. . Badgerkit? Emptykit?" Morningwind slowly rose then fell into another fit of coughs.

Lionkits coughing made it hard for her to breath

Tigerkit woke up and walked toword badgerkit "Have you seen Lionkit?"

Kindlestar's ears flattened as she realized that Morningwind was coughing.

"Medicine cat den, now!" she ordered, nudging the queen to get up. "We have an epidemic. If you stay here, your kits might get infected."

Morningwind froze looking frightened at Kindelstar. "Wha-what will happen if i'm sick!? My kit's can't eat prey yet!" Morningwind wobbled towards Kindlestar "no, no thats ridiculous i can't possibly be sick! I don't get sick i'm a queen, i have to take care of future warriors!" Morningwind then coughed harshly. "no no" tears appeared on the brims of her eyes.

Kindlestar remained quiet for a moment, then gave the queen a reassuring look.

"I am sure that Firesong will be able to do something about that. Maybe all you have is a cold. However, we should keep you in the medicine cat den until we are sure. I will ask Powderkit's mother to look after those two if worse comes to worse," she meowed, starting to feel a little hazy herself again, and wishing more than ever to curl herself and rest in her den.
