Funny you shoulf mention Kali. I have a story line (that i never finished) about the Kali being women born throughout history with the ability to cause massive destruction. A scorned woman was what really caused the great flood, and Pompeii and Atlantis. twisted They are Nature's way of controlling the population.

I think their sinister yet generic "bird flu" is still around and still has potential to cause a pandemic. It's just not the media's favourite thing anymore. You know how our media works - It's always the End of the World, but every few weeks we need a different thing to be afraid of. Otherwise extinction would be boring.

Personally, I don't worry about the illness stuff. Unless it's that one with bacteria in hot, stagnant lakes that leads to rapid brain deterioration. That's freaky. Thankfully I think it mostly happens in the south. ninja

Yeah, eventually, Americans are gonna need to go around in space suits once we've steralized our local environments and become susceptible to every bug known to man.

Ranting is perfect for forums, cuz you can say anything you want to a stranger and not worry about ever having to meet them and having things get awkward, haha.
Side note, I tried to take some artistic photos with my camera today, and I've come to the conclusion that my camera is not up to such a cool task. Oh well. Guess I'll have to keep trying. Found some huge tadpoles though. Apparently we're about to have a plague of giant bullfrogs sometime in the near future...

What kind of camera do you have?

And yeah, as mentioned, it seems like every time we turn around there's a new virus scare. The problem is we're desensitized to the threat of Biological warfare at this point. So now we're all a little too relaxed about bio threats. Part of the problem was trying to imagine the same chaos of centuries past with pandemics which do not work the same way in our age of modern medicine. Part of the paranoia is that 200 years ago we would probably be oblivious to a rampant disease on another continent. Epidemics were almost always raging, just not in your neighborhood.

Hard to say if this is or is not a problem. Interestingly some very real threats, like AIDS don't get the same attention they used to. Granted AIDS research has made some strides, but it's still a very scary problem.

AntoniaMerEnfant:
I have a very uncool and cheapy camera. It's a casio Exilim. It's more of a for fun camera then for any other purpose.
About this epidemic thing, honestly most of the illnesses are blown completely out of proportion by the media. Most healthy people generally have nothing to fear. It's just the people with already weakened immune systems that need to be careful.

Grabs an antihistamine gun and turns off the safety. Let's roll Amigo.

Are we declaring war on all allergies, or just the ones that show up with spring and can be treated with antihistamines? Cause those don't bother me, but I would gladly declare war on my damn wheat allergy.

From experience, hayfever can't always be treated with antihistamines.

Also, put my name on the roll.

I don't think I have any allergies. o_O Except maybe to mosquito bites, but everyone has a bit of that.

What I do have is writer's block, for several days, and it's pissing me off. crying

Also I keep reading this woman's blog... She's patronizing and writes WAY too much every post. I don't know why I don't unsubscribe...

First of all sorry for the double post; secondly, I'm heading to the outpatient clinic (like CVS's minute clinic thing) because I'm not feelin' too great today. Chills and tummy ache. Gosh, I hope it's not the swine flu! gonk That's the LAST thing I want! I'll report back when I get back here. 3nodding Wish me luck!
