Firesong yawned, deciding to stop being lazy and get up. She padded to the den entrance, purring as she heard the conversation between the two she-cats.

Duskwind's ears perked up as she heard her leader say she was going hunting. With leafbare almost upon us we need all the food we can get. "Kindlestar, can I go on your hunting patrol?"

((Well, we have Lionkit, Powderkit, Badgerkit and Emptykit. If not all of the warriors are empty, we may have problems accommodating these guys. There are more, but they do not post. burning_eyes ))

Kindlestar looked up at Duskwind and dipped her head.

"I would be grateful if you did. Most of the warriors are busy with their new apprentices, but we need food. I was thinking of going out hunting myself," she meowed, flicking her tail.

"I can hunt" meowed lionkit coming up from behind Kindlestar  

[Kitsune Thistletree]

Kindlestar looked back in surprise, then almost purred in amusement when she saw Lionkit looking up at her with pride.

"Lionkit, you are still too young to hunt. However, you are not too young to help. Maybe you could go to the nursery and see if the queens need their bedding changed. I trust Firesong still has fresh straw for the nests," she meowed at the kit.

Creamtail rolled her eyes at Dawnlight, but smiled at Thrushpaw. "I was trying to hunt, and I know I can still get sick, but we need food, and I'm not eating until I catch something!"

She flicked her tail "yes Ma'am" she ran off to the nursery to start

Dawnlight's jaw dropped open, his eyes wide.

"You are going to hunt?!" he yowled in a louder voice than he intended, his tone shocked.

Kindlestar purred in amusement at the sight of the young kit padding over towards the nursery.

"Good kit," she meowed, happy to see the eager kit helping out her denmates.

Thrushpaw was proud of Creamtail, even though she hadn't caught anything. "That's cool Creamtail! I know you don't like to hunt." He looked thoughtful for a moment. "Hey! Why don't we make this a hunting lesson! We need something for the Fresh-kill pile anyway!"

Lionkit got all the dirty bedding and put it at the entrence then put fresh bedding down. She stepped back to admire her work

Flamewind sighed and walked off to the medicine den. "I refuse to eat until we have enough prey for everyone," she whispered to herself. "I will not eat until I see the fresh kill pile large again."

A cat nearby the entrance to the camp padded silently by. It was not of Fireclan.

Flamewind caught their scent. "What?" she said. "An intruder?"

Lionkit went outside to play

Dawnlight looked down at the apprentice and nodded.

"We can, but be ready to show endurance," he growled. "Leaf bare means long hours of searching and little prey to hunt."

Kindlestar saw a strange cat she had never seen before creeping into the camp and snarled. She ran with all of her speed and crept under the cat rapidly, then bulked up on two paws and flipped it belly up.

"Who are you, and who do you think you are wandering into my Clan's camp?" she demanded, her paw on the intruder's throat.

Kindlestar rarely had to fight, mostly because she refused to, but with StarClan's message she left no room for mistakes, and she trusted no one outside of her Clan. Her skill was noticeable however, as she rapidly used surprise to take down the opponent.

Lionkit jumpped on a rock to watch her leader "WOW!"
