Whisperpaw woke up and stretched. She sat up, disoriented for a short moment. Then she remembered. Oh, yes... I'm in the apprentice's den... I'M AN APPRENTICE!!! She sprang up and hurried outside, looking for her mentor. What will I learn today? Maybe I'll... fight, or hunt, or patrol, or...

Flamewind shrugged at the thought of there being no kits.
"Are there any queens with unborn kits?"asked Flamewind.

Kindlestar scowled a little. "No there aren't. But I just told you that there are a couple of kits that still need to be apprenticed. I suppose your skill of listening is not one of the traits you will be passing on to your apprentice when you have one," Kindlestar meowed coolly, her whiskers twitching slightly all the same.

Badgerkit blinked his eyes open. Emptykit had already left. Morningwind was still asleep. "Where did she go this time?" Badgerkit mumbled to himself as he crawled out of the nursery. With a quick scan to make sure Dawnlight wasn't anywhere nearby Badgerkit dashed out to a nearby rock to hide. "Emptykit . . . " He mumbled worriedly to himself.

Emptykit crouched hidden outside of the leaders den. Her ears perched forward as she listened in on the conversation.

"well, I guess not. I was just wondering about the queens..." Flamewind sighed. "are you saying that I'm getting an apprentice? I couldn't stand not being a mentor after Lovepaw died..."

Emptykit clawed the ground impatiently. is Kindlestar going to make us apprentices?
(k new update, as of now Emptykit and Badgerkit are 2 moons old, and me thinks instead of Badgerkit, Emptykit should have the honor of Dawnlight as a mentor . . . after his apprentice has been warrior-fied of course ^.^)

Kindlestar shook her head. "There aren't many toms in FireClan. As such, not many queens mate. Blazewhisper hasn't taken on a mate yet, and neither has Dawnlight, and those two are our youngest male warriors..." she mewed. Her pelt grew a little prickly when she thought of Blazewhisper's confession to her in front of Firesong. She shook her head to take it off her mind.

The confession had come out of nowhere, and she had not known how to answer. She herself found the large gray tabby attractive, and the reason she had made him deputy was because she trusted him with her life, but however, she was still unsure of whether it was wise or not to involve herself with another cat, not sure if she would devote herself to her Clan if she had kits with him.

"I am sure that those that share their dens in the nursery can tell you this with more certainty than me, after all, they see all that happens in there, no, Emptykit?" Kindlestar purred, her face turning to where a bit of the kit's tail poked out from behind a rock, her whiskers twitching with amusement.

Emptykit froze, I"VE BEEN SPOTTED!!. She inched around the corner, then tried to look dignified as she padded into the den. "Ah! I was not spying!" Emptykit said loudly and quickly. fox-dung! now they know my plans!

Badgerkit lifted his head sharply, he had just heard his sisters voice. He turned slowly towards the leaders den. please tell me she's not in there . . .

Flamewind sighed. "Do you like Blazewhisper?" Flamwind teased. "Something happened with him, didn't it."

"Yes you have little kit. However, there is no shame in this. FireClan warriors are upfront, they take pride in never sneaking on their enemy, but rather facing them with speed and agility. WoodClan are the ones that like hiding behind things," she joked, her whiskers twitching.

She then turned to Flamewind and shook her head. "What do you mean? You mean you hadn't heard?" she asked her, sighing.

"I don't really pay much attention to gossip. I live to serve my clan, not gossip about others." Floamewind sighed. "what happened?"

Kindlestar shook her head. "Nothing much I suppose. You should get back to Firesong. I need to do some hunting today. We are short on patrols I am afraid and there is barely any food in the plains... Get some rest. The sooner you get better the sooner you can help out," she joked, pushing her with her paw in the direction of Firesong's den.
