Thrushkit blinked in surprise. He hadn't even thought about a mentor; he'd just been hoping to help hunt. "um..." He looked thoughtful, "whoever doesn't have an apprentice, I suppose. But if she makes some of the apprentices warriors, that could be just about anybody. hm..."

Firesong looked at Thrushkit. He wasn't particularly aggressive. But he was clever, and could probably keep up with even aggressive training. "Well, I hope she does make some more warriors. Some of you," she looked pointedly at Warpaw, "have been apprentices for some time now."

Dawnlight snorted.

"Well I suppose that not having a thought about it is a good thing. Surprises can be good."

Forestkit moved out of the nursery. She could over hear the one kit, Thrushkit, talk about warriors and apprentices. She sighed and moved to the freshkill pile. She saw a small mouse and pulled it out. She looked back towards where the elders slept and pushed her mouse back in. Getting a large thrush and a decent mouse, she began dragging them to the elders den by herself. Being alone in a clan made her act alone. She didnt do much with the other kits and she mainly kept to herself. She was quick witted and strong, though she often dreamt of becoming a medicine cat. Though, she would be unable to stand being mateless for her life. She continued towards the elders den to listen to their tales of old.

((To all of the kits and apprentices, I will be making a ceremony as soon as Kindlestar comes back. Those that wish to be named, please let me know.

Also, I am needing for those of you who have changed your usernames and it no longer matches with the one in the introduction thread to give me your new name so I may update. That would be all. ninja ))

Creamtail yawned. "I'm glad I don't deal with having a mentor anymore. And that I don't have an apprentice. I'm not very good at teaching how to fight," she said.

Forestkit finished dragging the freshkill to the elders den. She was more than excited to be listening to the tales of old from them. She laid down by the elders as they ate and she listened to their tales. She was content.

Dawnlight glanced over at Creamtail and sneered.

"Oh I believe you. My mentor was Blazewhisper," he growled, puffed up proudly. He then twitched his ear in thought. "Weren't you his mentor?" he asked, a small hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Why, yes I was. He turned out all right, and so did you." Creamtail sighed. "But I'm still not good at mentoring." She looked at Dawnlight. "That makes me old, now doesn't it?"

Dawnlight was surprised by Creamtail's question. His ears perked up as he looked at her. He then blinked warmly at her and purred in amusement.

"You are only as old as you let yourself be and feel," he answered. He then turned his head and looked up at the sky. "Of course in your case, that may be pretty darn old," he added with a growl.

Creamtail, not surprised at all with the final statement, replied with, "Okay, so if that's the case, then I must be ancient. But there's something missing here that could possibly make me much younger. Any ideas?"

Dawnlight brightened at this.

"The thrill of the hunt of course," he mewed in a matter of fact voice. "Feeling the earth under your paws and your muscles rippling just before you pounce on that rabbit. That is the most enlightening experience I have ever felt for youth."

"That's something I've grown to dislike," Creamtail said, "because I see myself getting killed while doing it. Fighting, too. It's dark, scary, and it plays tricks on my mind."
She looked down at the ground. "I'm meaning more of a happier thing. Like love, I guess. Soon enough, all of you will want me in the elder's den, and there I'll spend my days telling stories to kits. I kind of want those stories to be about me, about my adventures, and about my loves." She glanced back up at Dawnlight. "You know what I'm saying?"

Dawnlight gave Creamtail a confused look.

"Love? What does love have to do with greatness?" he asked her, his tail giving a flick.

"A great deal actually. Love is the first true emotion that guides loyalty, and the need to care for others, which leaves trust for a Clan. It is a display of mercy, which can lead to friendship and times of peace. It is a power that should not be triffled with in the least, as it can also make you do the most mouse-brained things," Kindlestar mewed, her whiskers twitching with amusement as she padded into the camp, Duskwind close behind.

Forestkit left the elders den and moved towards the center of camp. She was still hungry. She passed by Kindlestar as she picked up the small mouse for herself. She flicked a fly off her ear.

Creamatil nodded at Kindlestar's words. "Yeah, that. See, Dawnlight, I'm not the only one who thinks that."
But she looked down and sighed. "No one would ever love me, so why do I even bother?"
