I am assuming "Black Friday" is an American shopping holiday? Similar to Boxing day?

confused
Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Most employers who aren't in retail give this day off because many people go abroad to be with family that Thursday. It's also a Bank Holiday.

Since most people have it off, retail stores took to having insane sales- the lap top I was looking at for $240 is usually almost $1000 after tax.

It brings out the most depraved aspects of humanity- often including fist fights over the most popular toy of the season etc.

I usually avoid it like the plague, but my Nana's computer died and I need to find a way to help her so when we saw that deal, we got up bright and early. Just... not early enough.

The traffic of Black Friday is HORRABLE. I lost count of people who cut mom and I off when we went on base to go grocery stopping today.

I know, but I'm out of a job for the time being, and he doesn't have a lot of hours right now. The TV could have waited until we actually HAD MONEY TO SPEND.
What happened to the job?

"Downsizing." I worked all of two days as a full-time employee. The temp lady who got me the job felt so bad when she told me about it. She says I'm her first priority on Monday morning, so hopefully I'll have something again soon.

We got there at 3:00 in the morning and managed to be about fifteenth in line. Was still awful, though. My poor toes. gonk Where did you try to go for the laptop?
Best Buy. Kinda glad we didn't get it there. We can give the money back to Nana and get her something from a company that isn't being sued for credit card fraud.

I heard Best Buys were awful. The people in front of us in line (who Isaac went to high school with, actually) said they drove around for a while and ended up at Target because, at 2:30 AM, it was the only store in the area that didn't have a line all ready one hundred yards long.

This was my first Black Friday shopping experience. I hope it's my last. Not fun. Got a good shopping experience out of Target as usual, but the other customers were so damned rabid. At least we were out of there within twenty minutes of entering the store.

Sorry you didn't get what you wanted. I'm sure there will be a few more deals coming along before Christmas, not as low as that, but good deals nonetheless.

It'll work out.

I don't like Best Buy anyway. ~shrugs~

In other news- I have applied to be a play tester for the Dresden RPG.

That's awesome, I love the history channel too! History, History International, and the Discovery channel are all good. But I only watch them when I'm with my parents, back at the apartment I only get a few channels.
