Cyrus followed him into the hallway and patted his shoulder. "You'll learn." He smiled reassuringly. "Resocialization takes time but it'll happen. You'll be a true part of the family before you even know it."
Truth was Cyrus already liked his cousin. He was strange and didn't seem very human sometimes but Cyrus liked him just fine. He was confident Felix would start returning to humanity soon. "You know........" He leaned over to whisper in his ear. "You should pay more attention to the people around you. You might notice you've already captured someone's attention."
He smiled again. Poor sweet Dolly Jean. She would probably always be childishly shy. But she was a good girl. Better than they ever expected any Mayfair child to be.
"As far as the matter with Antha don't stress over it. We don't want to pressure you. Just do what you can."

"Understood." Taking his eyes away from Antha's portrait, he wondered again how he was going to do this. Cyrus said he has Antha's attention but that doesn't really matter if he couldn't do anything else. And as Cryus said as well, he's gotten someone else's attention as well. Someone besides Antha. But seeing as how he was shown off to a good number of his cousins that could be a few people. How did just showing up out of the blue get him all this attention. It must be a mind set of a normal person. Something Felix would never understand.

Dolly Jean lingered in the kitchen for several minutes after Cyrus and Felix had quitted the room. If she knew her brother---and she most certainly did---he had business to discuss and would not look kindly upon any interruptions. Dear Cyrus, always the practical one. Dolly Jean did not wonder that Antha had every intention of putting him in Julien's intended place as head of the family when Stefan was gone.
A few minutes was all she could wait before she followed them up the stairs, her steps hesitant, as if she were afraid of being scolded for intruding. "Cyrus," she called down the hall when she could make out her brother's form, pausing for a moment before making her way to them. "I didn't want to stay with Jack and the others down there," she murmured, her face flushing faintly. No need to mention that the stranger with them made her nervous. He was an outsider, and a frightful one at that, she thought.

Kain looked around and cracked his neck. "So Jack would you mind if I took a closer look around the libary?" he asked. Kain needed something to do and reading sounded like a good idea to him. "I'm still in search of some really good things to read." he added as he put his mask back on. The oxygen hadn't worn out but it was going to soon enough.

~Seth~
From a window nearby window in the hallway came a knock, then a very calm voice with a joke on it. "Hey Cyrus open the window I'm frezeing out here." Seth joked. He was finally back after a while of being gone looking into the werewolf rumors, he was glad to finally see the manor again and couldn't wait to say hey to his pal Cyrus.

It was Dolly Jean who first responded to the knock at the window. When she turned, not sure what she would find lurking on the other side of the glass, there was a very acute terror on her face, the panic for which she was so well known. But those emotions were wiped clean the moment her sight registered what was truly there, replaced with an excitement that bubbled over as she raced to the window, throwing it open for him. "Seth!" she greeted him, a faint giggle lingering in her tone. "Look, look!" she urged, taking his arm as if she would lead him inside, "Antha found a new cousin! His name is Felix and Cyrus is showing him around."
For a moment or two she forgot everything else, just the hallway and the few other people within it with her. But the mention of Antha's name brought a flicker of doubt to her face, a darker version of her panic. "You just missed Antha. She went away a little while ago to help get rid of a ghost." Her voice fell to a small whisper, her eyes darkening, " She took Felix with her at first, but she decided it was too dangerous for him. She said she was sending Courtland back too, but he hasn't shown up yet." Another moment or two and the fear lingered, and then began to fade, slowly but surely, until the excitement of all that was going on around her was all that existed again. "Felix is strange though. He doesn't talk much." She giggled, her cheeks tinting faintly. "You know, we didn't even know about him. Julien and Antha didn't even know about him!"

"Speak of the devil," he muttured and went to pat his sister's head. "We don't mind do we Felix?" He smiled down at her. "I was just telling Felix about some of the family history. Would you like to help Dolly Jean?"
About the time he was asking that he heard the knock at the window. Dolly Jean was already gone and opening the window. "Seth," he said in shock at seeing the vampire, "What a pleasant surprise." He smiled again. "Allow me to introduce you to Felix." He patted the boy's head and ruffled his hair. "Felix Mayfair if there was any doubt with that red hair and green eyes."

Seth gave a small smile. "I thought I picked up a new presence somewhere in here." He said to both Dolly Jean and Cyrus, "Don't you worry Dolly Courtland and Antha can take care of themselves." He then tuned to Cyrus. "I also smell a human though Cyrus. One I never met. You hiding something from me old friend?" he added sniffing the air. Mayfair blood smelled different to Seth. "Nice to meet you Felix. Welcome to the family. Per chance were you from the guild?" he asked him with a small tilt of the head. "You smell like you are."

Felix had no real intention to answer the vampire. but he was friends with his cousins, so it might be better to respond. "That depends on which orginazation you're talking about. The one I was previously in had no name. Every one may have called it the guild, but it went by no name. We lived in secrecy. Leaving was not an option. Alive at least. Desertion meant death. Compromising meant death. Only those broken or raised to follow orders were left alive. And it wasn't the only orginazation out there. We've had encounters with many others. So which one do you mean?"

"Most likely the one your from then. I just pick up a scent from you that I remember. She was in the guild too, one with no name. Sorry though name slips my mind. Anyway though welcome to the family Felix, I'm sure you'll fit right in." He then turned to Cyrus, "So any thing new on this side of the world, or in this house even?" he said almost as if the two places were the same.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 22, 2009 8:53 am
Felix wondered breifly how exactly Seth knew about the guild. No one is supposed to speak of it to any one outside of the guild. The guild was all about secrety. Old habit started to kick in. Anyone who betrayed the guild in any way needed to be taken out. And any measures were accepted. It didn't even matter if innocent lives were taken as well. What ever it took. However though, Felix was no longer part of the guild. He himself would be hunted down if they found out. Which he suppect would happen eventually. Felix turned back to the pictures in the hall. He'd deal with it when the time came. That wasn't important right now.

Cyrus patted his cousin's shoulder. "It's all right. We won't let anyone get to you. If they come for you Antha'll know." He smiled. "Antha would slaughter a few thousand men before she even considered letting a Mayfair die."
He turned to Seth. "Antha has to get married. Soon. The family decided and Julien was decided to be the bearer of bad news. She left the library in ruins because of him." He sighed. "Besides that there's not much new. Unless I go into all the accounts of the mischief our Designee of the Legacy has been tracking down."
The trouble Antha caused was nothing new. Everyone was used to it. "I think we should retire to the patio. It would be a good place to watch the snow fall while we throw Felix into our family history. Dolly Jean would you please get Vittorio to fetch the dolls from the attic? I think Felix should see them."
He waved at Seth and Felix to follow him and went downstairs and out onto the glassed in patio. There were four chairs around the little table and he sat in the one facing the backyard. "Was there anything in particular you've been wondering about the family Felix?" he asked. "Or should I just keep going on rambling?"

Even when Cyrus ensured him that he'd be fine, Felix knew better than to trust those words so soon. While this may be a witch family, Felix kept one rule true to himself. Never underestimate your enemy. Antha may be powerful, but every one had a weakness to exploit. Even Antha. And Felix.

Felix followed Cyrus out to the patio. He passed the table and chairs and walked to the edge of the patio. Looking out over the yard, almost everything was covered in a blanket of white. Winter never gave off good surrounding for assassination. Any other color would be seen easily on the snow, and one couldn't wait long for their target to arrive. There was a good chance of being frozen while waiting for the target. Felix didn't need to worry while he was out here.

Felix turned back to Cyrus. "Being the newest member here and not nowing basicly anything about the Mayfairs to begin with, it's hard think what I want explained."

Seth followed quietly thinking about Antha. Poor girl. Seth had never really thought too much of her but he knew that she wasn't intrested in getting married just yet. Seth just quietly lisened to what they had to say about everything. He looked out over the snow. All untouched he just thought about what could be hideing out in the woods around the manor.

Dolly Jean obeyed only grudgingly, looking first to her brother and Seth and then to Felix. She turned and fled down the hallway with an expression similar to one a child would wear when the adults had ordered them away. "Vittorio," she whispered as she slipped into Malakai's bedroom, trying to wake only one of her sleeping cousins, "Vittorio!" She crawled onto the bed to touch his shoulder, shaking him the very slightest bit, until his breathing quickened and he began to stir. "Vittorio, Cyrus says to get the dolls out of the attic. He wants to show them to Felix."
The boy lifted his eyelids slowly, for they felt very near to lead, and let his vision focus and his mind begin to work again. "The dolls are Antha's," he grumbled, rubbing at his eyes and running a hand through his hair, "Cyrus doesn't have that authority."
Dolly Jean only tugged at his hand, dragging him slowly closer to the edge of the bed until, finally, he stood on his own. "Antha won't mind," she promised, still tugging at his hand, "She wants Felix to know about all of this stuff too."
A vague sighed escaped Vittorio as he gave in, following after his cousin out the door and up the stairs to the attic. "Fine, fine, but if Antha gets angry, I had nothing to do with this." That was all he said as he picked the old oak chest up and secured it on his shoulder before making his way back down the stairs, following Dolly Jean out to the patio. Noticing Seth, Vittorio gave a little nod of his head when the chest was sitting safely on the ground before Cyrus, trying not to be rude despite his lack of sleep.

Seth nodded to Vittorio in response. "Not enough beauty sleep huh Vittorio?" he said with a smile. "Careful with those things. Don't break anything." he said with a laugh then looked back out to the woods. He thought he might have heard something.
