Oh, it's definitely cheesy and tacky, but that's why I love it! I'm one heck of a sad person, really. :3 The characters are just plain fun though.

Haha yes the characters have always been fun xD

I think there's something about this cast of characters that I like especially though. Possibly it's all down to Ellette, and how in the first book she's all pious and nice, and then she disappears, and in the second book you find out that she's not that kind of girl at all. xd She smokes, drinks, and leads Medina down a rather dangerous (if exciting) path - which also leads to a pretty nasty end. =O

She's only a secondary character in both though. I mean, Calina and Medina are the main characters, but Ellette is the one who holds everything together.

My new main character, Minerva, should be interesting to work on. In the other two books she goes by different names, has entirely different motives - I suspect you'd never know she was the same character. In the third book you finally get her view on things and hopefully everything will properly come together. >_>

Haha I love deceiving the reader! I did that with my other main male. My lead painted him as a very bad man, who was a Council lapdog but he is the opposite and leading a rebel group against the Council xD

The name Minerva only reminds me of Harry Potter! Lol! It all sounds weird and wonderful biggrin

Weird, yes! Wonderful? Maybe not. XD

I like the name Minerva, because she's supposed to be the goddess of Wisdom in Roman mythology, which is fitting in some ways because she knows a LOT about what's going on - but at the same time it's kind of ironic because she's incredibly short-sighted. Baha. Plus, I wanted to give her a real name, since she's sort of named after the person who she was created to look like (the Thau's dead wife). >_>

EXAMS ARE OVER!

Whoohoo. Tonight I'm going to do some more reading. My plan is to get the first and second novel read, and the timeline planned out accurately, by the middle of June at the latest. Then I'll spend a few days planning and hopefully be writing as soon as possible. I know I'll probably start writing before I've planned, but I don't want to get stuck again like last time so I'll have to be cautious.

I do love it, although with all this free time I have I'm getting less done than I'd like. However, I think I deserve some time off after the hectic month I've had, so I've been reading a book (which I just finished, actually, and might start another) and watching Charmed, since my boyfriend got me the box set for my birthday. heart

I have a feeling I'll get more done at home, because I always work better there. Not to mention everybody will be at work/school until the middle of July anyway. =B I'll have the house to myself.

Oooo Charmed!

Haha, yes I am looking forward to having the house to myself every day soon xD I hope you get more writing done soon smile

Indeed. XP I'm not a geek, I promise! Sometimes it's so bad it's good. whee

I hope so too, but at this rate I won't have finished reading by July. xd There's just so much to get through, and I don't have the patience for reading quite so much off a computer screen, nor do I have the ink or paper to print it out. D=
PostPosted: Thu Jun 10, 2010 11:38 am
Oh gawd! Yes, reading off a screen does give you a headache and then the words just blur into one xD

~Sunday 18th July, 2010.

I know it's been a while since my last post, but it's been really busy lately, what with being home and all. I haven't done much of anything since I got home except read - and read I have! I've just been reading pretty much non-stop since I got home, and I'm totally not regretting it one bit. Well, not regretting it if you don't count the guilt I have over having not written anything.

Oh well! I made a new goal on Friday, to write 10,000 words on my latest novel (which I'm not going to talk about much in the hopes that keeping it quiet will make it more fun to write) by the 27th of July. It's a small goal, but hopefully one that will get me started again after so long doing nothing. >_o

Anyway, so far I have about a hundred words. Progress is progress, right? x____X;

Words written today: 1,043 so far.

Word count: 1,118

Lines for today:

Jeremy had sounded urgent before the room had begun to tilt only Elv had been too busy fuming at him for bursting into her shop as she tried to close up. Now she couldn’t remember what he had said, not to mention how this had happened. As far as she was aware, werewolves couldn’t teleport. Neither could she.

Thank you! This one literally took like five minutes. I was just putting off starting anything. xd

It's great to be back. It's great to be writing again too, it makes me very happy.

Haha yeah, my own writing will be stalled as I found writing exercises I need to do before Uni...ack! Do you have to write poetry in creative writing?

I did have to do some poetry in my first year, but it was only informal and wasn't to test skill. My first year was filled with little 'practice' exercises, where we could choose to read out what we'd written or keep it to ourselves. When it came to our examined work we could choose the form of that, too, which meant the module catered for everybody.

Next year I've specialised and I'm doing modules in both drama and prose. Although, all universities are different, so you might have to write poetry where I didn't.
