Moonlight purred at Sunshadow, "True." Sunshadow curled up next to her, but kept a look out. "I really doubt twolegs will come." She sighed. "I don't know when we'll be able to go back to camp, but not until all the fire is gone." She curled close to Sunshadow and began licking her kits.

Swiftsoul padded toward the edge of the group, alone, and watched as the others kept warm with mothers and mates. She smiled as the rain drenched her fur.

*Sprintsong padded softly up to Swiftsoul sat down and mewed softly* "Why are you alone?"

Swifsoul smiled.

"I'm a medicine cat." She explained. "I don't have a mate or kits to keep me warm. And since I haven't been here long, I don't have any friends, either." She lifted her soaking tail and flicked Sprintsong on the ear. "I'll be fine. Really. You go stay warm."

Embarassed, Moonsong padded over to scold her sister on bugging the cat. "Sprintsong, don't you remember what mama taught you? Medicine cats can't have babies!" She gently flicked her younger sister on the nose. Moonsong looked up "Hello, I'm Moonsong. And this here's my little sister, Sprintsong."

"It's no problem, really. I'm sure she didn't know what I was." Swiftsoul gave a warm smile. She didn't seem to know that her fur was hanging in thick wet clumps and that cold crystals of water were dripping off her whiskers.

Eyes of amber just watched all the other cats mingled, despite the fact their pelts clung to their frail bodies because of the rain. The din of others did not completely disrupt the silence that surrounded the kit that simply observed. A yawn emitted from the young male's maw as he slowly turned his head to look at some where else, he was looking at nothing. Yet his eyes seemed transfixed on something despite the fact nothing was there.

Longkit was his name, and thinking was his game. He was a very abnormal kitten, he was quiet, observant, distant and calm, unlike the others that seemed to be bursting with life. No, Longkit liked his nature even though so many others comment on it as if it was a bad thing. Others have pointed out that Longkit had very odd body structure for kit his age. Long limbs, long tail and a long body. He was small but he was a very long kitten. No wonder his name was 'Longkit'

Longkit's wet leopard colored coat clung to his small body, showing every rib bone, every muscle and every kitten fat he had. His long tail flickered side to side, having a mind of its own. His eyes simply transfixed on nothing as his mind began to wander. Thoughts of the past, present and future crossed his mind. . .

"Im SprintSong" SprintSong purred as she licked her new companions shoulder as a welcome. "are you an apprentice or a kit?" She asked with a soft voice but also with exitement.
