On a lighter note: Anyone have any ideas as to which "camp" they're going to join in Gaia's summer camp game/event? I had thought about going to the Rich Camp, but now I'm not so sure.

Already in science camp.

As to my manager: yeah, he was the one my store manager was plying.

Oddly, him moving out put me on the fast track to promotion. I'll be in training in weeks, in my own store in weeks to months.

Scary thought.

The upside to the downside?

Pretty much. And I found out that my DM was laid off, not fired. So not really his fault, they just reapportioned districts.

Well at least that doesn't put a mark on his record, but it is still hard for people losing jobs and such.

Evil- what does PCOS stand for, forgive my ignorance. sweatdrop

It stands for PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome. Basically, instead of releasing like they are supposed to, your eggs swell and turn into cysts that can become quite painful at times.

What is it about our female bodies that make our own flesh turn against us so much? That does sound like quite a difficult thing to live with, and I could see why it would necessitate medical intervention for children.

I've been relatively blessed, nothing outside of cramps and such physically. The worst thing for me and my cycle is it throws off the neurotransmitter balance in my brain-- making me excessively prone to depression. I went on birth control at one point to try and stabilize it. Unfortunately it dampened my emotions and gave me bad side effects. Since then I've learned many ways to deal with the bio-depression without the use of any medication.

Apathy makes me uncomfortable. I am a person of passion, emotion, and acting upon emotions. The lack of a clear emotion leaves me confused as to what decision I should make.

-I watched this documentary yesterday called "Second Skin". It talked about MMORPG's and the effects they can have on people's lives, both good and bad. It also had some insight from indutstry guys about how MMO's and online interaction in general can be viewed as something of commentary on our society. It was really fascinating stuff and I think any gamer or anyone whose into sociology in general might dig it. It'll be on Hulu until the 13th, if you've got the time.

-I was reading a critique of my story on Critique Circle, but immediately stopped taking the reviewer seriosuly when they said that my character shouldn't have red blood or ribs because they aren't human. It's a fantasy story and the character is of a humanoid race. I really don't get people sometimes.

-One of my damn classes got cancelled because of low enrollment or something. It was a class I was really looking forward to taking, too. It's too close to the start of the semester to get something else so now I have to put in more of an effort than I was originally planning in my spring semester. I really hate my school sometimes.

-My immediate supervisor at work is one of the most interesting people I know. He's an old hippy and something of a conspiracy theorist, but he's also really handy and stuff. It's like someone threw John Lennon and Bob Vila in a gene splicer.

-I have to hold interviews for a new friend. My one buddy's all in love an stuff, so I barely hear from him anymore.

I hate asking again, but hardly anyone has responded. Does anyone know which camp they're joining for Camp Chaos? I'm stuck in my mind. I thought about the weight training camp, but I also thought about the rich camp, and then of course I thought about the science camp. Juvie camp never even crossed my mind. What are your thoughts?

To be honest I'm not sure if I'll join in the event or not...gonna be working a lot for the next couple weeks. But chances are I'd probably either join science camp, or Juvie camp just to go against what I believe will be the predicted swarm of people going for Rich camp.

Might have to check that first one out. I don't play a lot of MMO's anymore, and most games I do play are limited to japanese rpgs. Persona and NIS America...But'll probably be interesting none the less.

Happy for your friend! But I'm always up for a random chat if your bored and wanna talk.

If this was a real camp thing, I'd probably go with the fitness camp. Heck, I may still do that; who knows, I may actually learn something. 3nodding

Saw your post in the avatar thread. I'm not sure. I'm actually waiting for more of the comics- I want to know the backstory to all of them before I choose. I have been known to be swayed by awesome NPC plots. Which- dork am I (I'm a whale's...?) I have to admit I really thought the Sam and Liam was cuuuutee.

And yeah, why must non-human-humans have un-red blood? :

I found out the reason I hadn't been on the work schedule was my own darned fault. Never told them my new availability, but now I've been enjoying my freedom too much to want to return. I'm debating about returning to my current, boring life as a grocery store cashier or try my luck at freelance work in writing, photography, etc. I don't know yet (and since I'm the praying type I've been praying once in a while about it, too). sweatdrop

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow and I'm afraid that they'll complain about my teeth on my upper jaw because they're really sore and last time they had to do a deep cleaning that hurt like the dickens as we say here. xd Also have to get my new glasses soon. Not sure what type to get yet and besides which I have to go to the optomologist and get my eyes tested first.

I bet you can all guess what my wish is on Saturday, my birthday, when I blow out my candles. wink

Well, now that you've heard about my life in only one post, I'm sure yours doesn't seem half as bad as mine. confused

Happy Almostbirthday Amane! Hope your day goes well.

My birthday is on Friday. As my gift to myself I am putting in my two weeks notice at my job. I'm excited.

I just spent 4 days at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. It is my absolute favorite holiday of the year, and it was as amazing as ever! My brain is still singing me wonderful songs from the weekend.

It's hard to say if free-lancing or staying with your current job is the best option-- I know how hard this struggle is because I'm going through the same thing myself right now. Really it comes down to analyzing the costs and benefits. Do you have the luxury of being able to work on your own or is the need for pay so strong you cannot go without a steady pay check? Will getting a head start on your art help to propel you into your career (because the grocery store does not, so that is one major benefit to the risk).

Good luck with the glasses and teeth. New glasses are fun though- a chance to find something that works well with your face.

I don't really judge my life as better or worse than anyone's life. Really it is just different- I have my trials and my blessings, and to each person they perceive some things as intolerable and others as fine.

Happy Upcoming Birthday. Mine is next Monday, but I am celebrating with friends this Saturday.

That is a brilliant gift, and it is completely tempting for me to steal your idea smile

Sort of spring-boarding off of what both you and Amane have said I have an idea for a company that would require very very little start up costs- and I want to do so so I can finally get my feet wet in the industry I'm trying to enter. So I'm really tempted to quit my current job to start my own company. Ideally I'd like a workable part time job to pay for my car and such-- but to be able to plan around hours to operate a business on top of school.

The Edmonton Festival sounds sublime, always wonderful to hear great music-- there is something definitely enchanting about a live performance.

I'm so sick today, that I ended up having to call off work. I can't remember the last time that I called out because I was sick. I usually end up working through it. I called off quite a bit when husband was dying though, and again when his mom died, but that's it. Oh well...
