Physically, I am here. Emotionally, I am living in a quaint cabin in the woods that smells like pumpkin bread and cinnamon and there are books everywhere and the record player is crooning softly and I spend my days reading and writing and devoting myself to my craft, blissfully happy because I live in a world of constant autumn.

in the mood to wake up in an old little cottage…. large warm quilts covering me and the person i love…. the windows touched by early morning frost and the world is pink and sleepy outside… i open the creaky door to see pine needles covering the ground, my garden sticky with chilly dew… im drinking hot chocolate and i have not a single worry.

there’s comfort in the grasses and trees. nothing is ever as good on the heart as the way the winds and flowers are. every day the dirt is calling, this is home. this is home. this is home. don’t be afraid to get dirty.

no, i don’t have a “dream job.” i want to spend my days reading and writing and lazing in the afternoon sun. i want to bake bread and brownies and apple crumble. i want to grow my own vegetables and plant a rainbow of flowers. i want to be with nature. i want to be at peace.

mentally, i’m in my cottage in europe, pressing flowers in a full, old journal, making homemade apple pie and feeling the light breeze of the wind through my wide, open window as i study french. the meowing of the cats and the bubbling of the brewing boiling pot of coffee water for tea fill the atmosphere, and the joyful sound of kids’ laughs echo on the cobblestone street below. but physically, i’m still in my room attending classes and doing math homework.

I want a cottage with a stream behind it and a forest that goes for miles on and deer are seen peeking out from the branches. Tea is brewing and my garden’s flowers are blooming. I am at peace with the world and full of kindness.

If there was ever a question whether the cottagecore and forestcore aesthetic suit me, this is the proof that they do.
